Scouting Report:

Padres: Wolf pitched well at times in his last start on May 7 in Atlanta, needing 78 pitches to get through six innings. Better still, Wolf got the Braves to hit into four double plays in the first six innings alone before loading the bases with no outs in a 2-2 game in the seventh inning. Reliever Joe Thatcher allowed those three runs to score as the Padres. Wolf, who had four walks, struggled with his command early but soon got the Braves to hit ground ball after ground ball.

 

Cubs: Zambrano was supposed to start Sunday, but was moved back after rain delayed the start of game. The big right-hander is coming off his most efficient outing of the season. Zambrano's 113 pitches marked his second-highest total of the season, but it came over a season-high eight innings in which he struck out only three. He has allowed a total of only two runs over his past four starts and has not tasted defeat since April 11.

There is no earthly way the Cubs should be able to lose this game.

 

You keep forgetting: They're the Cubs. If there's a way to lose a game, they've done it. Often times in the most painfully hilarious way possible.

I remember the one game I went to at Wrigley in 2003, the Cubs played the Phillies and Randy Wolf shut them out 3-0. It was Aram and Lofton's first game as Cubs and they went 0-8 combined. I was so pissed.
