Will Lou ph Ward for Theriot by chance?

He should, I think he will.

I doubt it. With the way Theriot has been hitting the ball over the last week and his speed, my guess is that Lou is very happy that he is leading off next inning in front of the big bats.

What the hell has happened to Murton? Where is his patience at?

He worked a full count before striking out. Patience wasn't the problem there.

Besides swinging at ball 4 twice. Yeah, you are right.

So, in an 8 pitch AB, he swings at one ball. Patience wasn't the problem.

The first pitch he offered at wasn't a strike either. Plus his hacks are very late. I don't know if he is not picking the ball up or what.

I'll admit he's looking flawed at the plate, but it has nothing to do with patience. He worked a 3-1 count. That in itself shows patience. He should have roped the 3-1 pitch, but didn't get a good swing on it. He hung in by fouling off a couple of others before swinging at a bad pitch. He showed patience, worked himself into a hitter's count, and then bungled it up.

Is Murton stuggling? Certainly. But to say he didn't show patience is about as wrong a statement as one can make.

Man, I still can't get over that double steal. It took the bat out of Fukudome's hands.

No it didn't. Ramirez swinging at two straight pitches that bounced took the bat out of Kosuke's hands. That double steal was a great call.

No ramirez did that.

Would they have IBB'd Fukudome with runners on 1st and 2nd?

Ha. Ram's wiff had something to do with that... I can't believe people are complaining about a successful double steal.

It also gave Ramirez a chance to drive the run home from 3rd base with 0 outs. It's his fault that he struck out and left Fukudome to be intentionally walked.

I would want guys on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs all day with Ramirez up. That is why we have him. He just didn't come through.

Was it a guarantee that he'd have driven them in?

The double steal at that point was great. It put Ramirez in a position to tie the game with a single and drive in a run with a fly ball. Had Ramirez not had the absolute worst AB of the game, it would have been a good idea.
