last i checked on gameday, lee and ramirez have left about 9 or 10 runners on base tonite. 11 hits and only 2 runs to show for it? for shame, cubs offense (or lack there of). but i can forgive lee since hes been hitting well, but ARam? where the hell are you????!!!!!

Thats probably a little decieving. Let's say Sori and Johnson lead off the game with two singles, then Lee and Ramirez leave them on. That is four runners left on base.

Who is available in the pen?

Hart, Wuertz, Lieber, Marshall

Lieber's not available tonight, and Hart is only in emergencies. If the game keeps going, it will be Marshall's game for quite a while when he comes in either next inning or the one after that.

Had to be the bearer of bad news, eh?

Great, so the pen is shot for the next day or two.

Houston's rallying against the Cards, 4-3 STL in the 6th.

Inning just ended.

Aaaand Pujols just hit his first official HR of the year. 5-3.

And Dempster blew 3 saves all of last year, but listening to NSBB you'd think it was 30.

Why do I get the feeling they'll be like the 04 and 05 teams that played about 20 games above their talent level...

That Square-D commercial is starting to annoy me. The Cubs' last pennant was in 1945! Poor Ronnie gets screwed over. I miss "lightning hit my friend's house, and fried everything."

Why aren't Lieber or Hart available?

Lieber went 3 innings on Monday (and he's not used to being in the bullpen and so takes an extra day to recover from that) and Hart also threw 32 pitches on Monday.

Please win, cubs.

I don't think they can lose this. Yates missing his spots getting into trouble getting his pitch count way up there. Then the Rule 5 guy. PLus we still have Marshall for the bottom half
