  1. yea hes terrible....2-4 w/ an rbi tonite in a big 8th inning.......yea maybe for a #3 hitter hes below average but still is batting just below .300 w/ gold glove D and should drive in like 90 rbis...give him a break
  2. i really like when ARAM hits a homer people on this site say ARAMABOMB!!!! Soto hit a bomb the other day and GEOTO EXPLOTO came outta my mouth for some reason....anyone think this can catch on in the northsidebaseball world? i just love to say geovany soto in general
  3. Sorry if this is posted somewhere else, but I heard on the Score this morning from Bruce Levine that the Cubs might be interested in acquiring Jim Edmonds since he was cut this week. "He would be the left handed bat the Cubs were looking for." Are you kidding me? Why would we wanna become slower, older, and worse offensively and defensively. Pie is much better than Edmonds is right now at this point in his career.
  4. well the offense did their job tonite.....if someone woulda told me the cubs woulda scored 7 runs in a game in which sheets started i would have definitely chalked up a win....cant do much when your pitching staff gives up 17 hits...outside of marmol and wood, the bullpen has been borderline horrendous. and one more point....i know gagne is a righty and ward is a lefty, but hes now 0-11 in pinch hit ABs this year, and i think he still only has one hit overall on the season. he has looked pretty uncomfortable at the plate this season, so why not go to someone who has actually has been productive and coming up with big hits this yr like cedeno? and yea ward struck out on 3 pitches
  5. first of all, how does a professional athlete strain his calf by hopping 4 inches into the air?? pretty sure im not in good shape yet play pickup basketball without managing to strain anything. maybe thats not a fair comparison, but seriously... but the good news is that the cubs arent really starving for offense at the moment w/ dlee having a red hot bat, fukudome being consistent, aram heating up, derosa being a silent mvp like last yr, and even theriot hitting ok as of late. thank god we dont have to watch jacques and floyd anymore. hopefully hes only out for 2-3 weeks though. also, this could mean that the big murt could get the call and give this team an even higher dose of OBP and quality at bats. another interesting point, and i hate to even bring it up, (but it could be an excuse to), is depending on the severity of the injury, could this cause hendry to up his offer on the brian roberts front? perhaps coco crisp? just share your thoughts... and after watching tonites game, pie is officially an offensive black hole
  6. yea lee has 3 homers w/ only 4 rbi's....hopefully this trend does not continue
  7. last i checked on gameday, lee and ramirez have left about 9 or 10 runners on base tonite. 11 hits and only 2 runs to show for it? for shame, cubs offense (or lack there of). but i can forgive lee since hes been hitting well, but ARam? where the hell are you????!!!!!
  8. it's not his fault that the team cant score any runs....i mean, come on.....11 hits and only 2 runs? thats awful!!!!!!!!
  9. neifi.....i cringed every time he was in the starting lineup.....which was mostly every day cuz of dusty
  10. Now that the Sox have dumped Uribe (pause while i laugh at KWill for signing him to a $4mill contract but not even making it to opening day), i wonder if this could jumpstart anything if the O's go ahead and acquire this bum.....it is a pricy one yr deal for his abilities but hopefully.....maybe......who am i kidding angelos is out of his mind
  11. I agree with Lou on this, and hopefully he will stick with him batting in the 2-hole...A guy projected to hit about 15 homers should not be batting third. Fukudome has proven (in Japan at least) that hes a patient hitter w/ a career .397 OBP and would fit well at the top of the lineup. This move would look even better w/, dare i say, Brian Roberts leading off followed by Fukudome as the table setters, then giving more RBI opportunities for Lee, ARam, and Soriano. With Soriano hitting 5th, the lineup wont look as "top heavy." And what i said about a guy projected to hit about 15 homers shouldnt hit 3rd in the lineup, yet our guy that hits first is a 35-45 home run a year type, so what the hell do I know.
  12. I'd rather have Pignatiello than watch Cotts serve up gopher balls all season....I don't understand how you are a shut-down setup man one year then another look like he couldn't even make ISU's team again if he tried out!?!?!?
  13. Dusty is a Troy O'Leary, Felix Sanchez, and Lenny Harris away from a complete team
  14. alex cintron.....garbage baseball player by day, obscure actress by night (Rosie Perez)
  15. Terrible. DeRosa may be a better defensive SS. you are a bum SouthSideRyan
