The overreation needs to simmer down---there will be plenty of time all season for the world is burning attitude---people are going to get burned out. It's frustrating to watch the Cubs get outplayed, but to say the Brewers are the better team (they're not), or use the other standard Cub fan excuses as to why the Cubs suck, isn't going fixed/solve anything.

Let me remind people here the Cubs started 3-5 after 8 games last yr, and ended April with a record 10-14. Not to mention the Cubs dropped their first home series against the Brewers last yr also (April 23-25). So there is no reason for concern.

The Brewers are just better than us.

I wouldn't go that far, yet.

Well, they are.

I disagree, they really aren't.

They have a much better offense and our pitching staff has Mrquis and Dmepster in it. They are better.

I don't think that any other group of fans even posses the shortsightedness of Cubs fans. No they aren't better than us, I disagree. I wonder if the Brewers were flipping out last year when we beat them 2 out of 3 in the first 3 we played against them. Cubs fans are the masters of being over dramatic. How about we make a bet? I bet you that the Cubs will make the playoffs AND have a better record than the Brewers.

I really don't feel like betting. If I am right I really doubt you would want to wager enough to make me feel good about it. Plus I am like days away from having a kid and don't really want to lose a large sum either. No thanks.

Just for bragging rights, for fun. No cash.

Ah that kind of bet really isn't fun for me. But, sure. Remind me if I win.

I can't believe how slow the MLB audio is. The Soto homer popped up on yahoo gamecast at the same time Pat called it.

typical Cubs: get a baserunner on every inning but score just 1 run

That is very definitely not "typical Cubs".

sure it is. it happened all the time last year. runners on but never driving them in.

now Wuertz is sucking too. SWEET

I don't know what your definition of "all the time" is, but the Cubs biggest problem is now, and has been for a very long time, a lack of baserunners.

And today, the Cubs are OBPing .304, while Milwaukee is at .367. One is horrible, one is terrific.

OMG REALLY OH GOD, WELL NOW THAT YOU HAVE SAID THAT I'M GOING TO HIDE, YOU WIN. one freakin game

What a stupid post. Can you read? I was discussing Derwood's comment about the Cubs "getting a baserunner on every inning" while pointing out that their OBP difficulties would suggest otherwise.

Seriously, read first, it could help.

I will, and if I win.

How cubs would it be to have 2 ROY candidates all star 1st and 3rd baseman and still totally suck.

Overpaid LF, clueless rookie in Center, blackhole at short, and a decent 2B, not much starting pitching, etc etc etc

Solid single for 'Lix. Hopefully Lou will turn him loose on the basepaths now.

The overreation needs to simmer down---.

Why do people get all up in arms over fans getting upset over slow starts? It's the same thing every year. Slow start, MAN THIS SUCKS, hey calm down it's early, mediocre finish. Oh wait, it's too late.

Why can't Cubs fans, of all fans, get jumpy over the opening series? What's the big freaking deal? Saying this needs to stop isn't going to stop it.

Its that coupled with the horrible way last season came to an abrupt halt.

A someone pointed out ealier this is not the same Brewer's team as last year. If we start out 10-14 I'll be very much concerned.
