Hey guys. I've been kind of a lurker on this site for the last two seasons. I enjoy many of the conversations you guys have here - you have some knowledgable and fun posters. I'm a die hard brewers fan - but I'm also a baseball fan. The cubs have such a passionate fanbase (many who are on this site) that I can't help but admire them. I'm a big dork - and I often read around on other teams fan sites to see what their fans feel and just gain more baseball knowledge from around the league. I have come to enjoy some of the things written on this site.

I enjoyed last season and thought that with you guys winning the division by 2 games - it might start up a little rivalry. I know the Brewers fans will probably think of it as bigger of a rivalry than Cubs fans ever will, but it still is fun to have a contender again in Milwaukee.

However, I can across this article - and was slightly baffled. I know there is sometime bad sports blood between Wisconsin and Illinois (Packers/Bears; Badger/Illini, Cubs/Brewers) but I never thought Cubs fans had much hatred towrads Milwaukee.

I just wanted to read the Cubs fan base as a whole on this topic. Do you all really hate Milwaukee this much?

I know he may be being a little over the top in this article - but I thought I'd post it anyways as my first post.

Hopefully I'll be able to post more aften here and have some good discussion with ya'll this season. Should be a good one. Good luck all.

I'd say those rankings are just about right.

The Astros rank right behind the Cardinals for me, but they just may be because they happen to be the "home team."

This is my favorite line:

Helpfully, the Brewers got a veteran leader in Jason Kendall to solidify this young, inexperienced defense. The fact that Kendall hasn't thrown out a baserunner since 2004 isn't going to be a problem in light of his leadership qualities.

My favorite part was

Same goes for Prince Fielder and Rickie Weeks. Heck, Fielder covers a lot of ground just by standing there.

Id put it

Cardinals

Astros

Brewers

Pirates

Reds

Having lived in Milwaukee the last four years, I can say that no Brewers fan has really gotten under my skin. I'll also venture that the average Brewers fan is more knowledgeable about their team and baseball in general than the average Cubs fan, but the opposite is the case for the die-hard fanbase of both teams.

As far as good old-fashioned hate goes, nobody tops the Cards, Sox, Mets, Braves and Astros for me. The Brewers are working their way up, and I agree that Ryan Braun helps out quite a bit.

The teams I hate are as follows:

1. Cardinals

2a. If the Cubs are in the playoff race, whoever is competing with them, especially a divisional foe

2b. White Sox

If the Brewers can continue to be successful for a while, and they certainly have the young talent to, they can definitely work their way slowly towards Cardinals level for me.

I hate that their announcers used to applaud Cubs fans for showing up and filling their stadium and now they whine about it. They actually promoted future Cubs/Brewers games to Cubs fans, so they could bring much needed revenue into Milwaukee, and now they act like ungrateful babies that people actually care enough to show up to games.

I don't hate Milwaukee, but I hate them being in front of the Cubs in the standings. And really, I kind of love them for collapsing so bad last year and giving the Cubs a chance.

Cardinals and Astros are atop that list. The Reds aren't too far behind, along with the Mets. The Yankees are up there as are the Padres and Marlins. I hate the Brewers about as much as I hate the Pirates, which is, only when they are on the schedule or an obstacle to the postseason.

Hate Milwaukee? No way. As Chicago suburbs go, it's not in the top 10 but it's OK.

Awesome. I hate Milwaukee, the city is a POS. Their fans are annoying and unrealistic. However, once Fielder, Braun, and Hart leave for better money they'll be back to worthless for another 18 seasons until they scrounge a winning season again. Then their fans will be back...

Diehard Brewer fans are just as clueless as casual Cub fans. They think every minor leaguer they have will be an All-Star, and rarely follow the other teams in the division.

Are you laughing or crying? You'll be good for a few years, but you have to know Fielder, Braun and Hart are all history once they reach free agency, and probably before.

That's why I don't hate the Brewers. They'll never sustain success like the Cardinals.

Fielder, probably. Only because of Boras. Hart, I would put money on him staying long term. The Brewers have already talked about a long term extension for Braun. This isn't the $40 million payroll Brewers, plus you can't assume there won't be more new talent coming to replace possible loses considering how well the Brewers have drafted and developed under Executive of Year Jack Zduriencik. Sure, they can't keep everyone, but don't kid yourself into thinking they are all gone soon.

In other words, i'm laughing.
