  1. I would try to get something better than Manny, he won't be touching the ball as a closer, so he has no value.
  2. Whoa. The Sports Machine wasn't relevant? You mean... there was sports news more than just once a week. I don't know what do with myself after this revelation.
  3. I am watching the Fox Sports Net North feed here in Milwaukee. Bill Schroeder is terrible, but great at being a terrific homer.
  4. I'll be receiving DLee and Bobby Jenks. I'll be giving up Pujols. I'm pretty much leaning heavily on taking it, but sometimes Cubs cloud my better judgment.
  5. Rich Harden is signed through this season at $4.5 million with a $7 million club option for 2009, after which he will be eligible for free agency. Clearly, Billy Beane will be looking to move him this season. I'd like to have Harden over Blanton from the A's. Will Hendry be willing to give some of the farm to Beane?
  6. Damn the fatties for giving us a bad name! The fatties? You mean the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area? (soon to be part of the Chicago Metropolitan Area)
  7. It's a 12 team league, six keepers. I'm working on pitching via trades but, as I said before it went way overpriced, so I stayed away from it. Also, Punto was thrown on my team as the commissioner wanted to add an extra bench spot after the live draft, I have already dropped him for Guthrie. I'll troll around and see what I can't get for Pujols, Thome, or Hendrick.
  8. Oohh, nice call. No more IPhone posts.
  9. Ridiculous? Or ready to jump into his Jeep Wrangler and yell at some chicks, dude.
  10. C- Victor Martinez 1B- Albert Pujols 2B- Howie Kendrick 3B- Ryan Braun SS- Edgar Renteria OF- Manny Ramirez OF- Corey Hart OF- Nick Swisher UTIL- Jim Thome B- Matt Kemp B- Kelly Johnson B- Jhonny Peralta B- AJ Pierzynski B- Austin Kearns B- Nick Punto SP- John Smoltz SP- Ted Lilly SP- Tim Lincecum P- Matt Capps P- Joakim Soria P- Zack Grienke B- Mark Buehrle B- Shawn Marcum It's an ESPN 5x5 Head to Head league. One thing to note, one player drafted 4 of the best 5 closers with his 2-6 picks, so closers were not around. What should I be looking to do. Thanks for any help.
  11. Anybody know the timing of the Statue unveiling or anything else that might be taking place on Opening Day? Trying to figure out what train to jump on.
  12. You get one vagina for the rest of your life. Real smart, Sean. Way to work it through.
  13. Corey Hart = ugliest man in baseball
  14. Brewer Fan said he was going to have a 30/30 year. Drafted him 5th in Fantasy Baseball, WATCH OUT!
  15. thanks...i was cutting the sleeves off of my fukudome shirt and i missed the name on the news blurb... Muscle shirt for Lollapalooza?
  16. Wow, I'm watching Gameday since I'm in a computer lab, and they don't even have first pitch. Ridic.
  17. +1 Thirded. fixed. Fourthed
  18. I hope the Brewers get shipped out of the NL Central, because I'd become a fan. Until then, no way.
  19. Yes, I go to Marquette. This sums up the Brewers fan base in one comment. "Prince has nothing to whine about, he got paid what everyone else did." -From a DIEHARD Brewer fan that somehow happened to acquire my friendship. Yes, please continue to use a set scale when paying your players. They will only get out of town quicker. This season is it for Milwaukee, do or die. After this players will start to be traded, sorry your state can't handle a team other than the Packers.
  20. Awesome. I hate Milwaukee, the city is a POS. Their fans are annoying and unrealistic. However, once Fielder, Braun, and Hart leave for better money they'll be back to worthless for another 18 seasons until they scrounge a winning season again. Then their fans will be back... Diehard Brewer fans are just as clueless as casual Cub fans. They think every minor leaguer they have will be an All-Star, and rarely follow the other teams in the division.
  21. I'm surprised that they don't keep the water constantly moving like they do for boats on a lake or river to stop the water from freezing in the pipes. Wasn't left field the problem last year, especially regarding Dunn? I was thinking the same thing, but I recall the Tribune article saying the holding tank was necessary because the City wouldn't allow them to discharge constantly, and they would only be permitted to discharge in accordance with the City.
  22. Well, it looks like they used PVC pipes. While much of the drainage system is probably insulated, the areas used for collection are most likely not, which would cause a backup. Also, I didn't find any good depths for which the pipes are buried, but frost level in Chicago can get rather deep. 4-6 feet, and I don't think they buried them down that far. Last thought, right field is backing up, which is also where the drainage tank is. The drainage tank might be closed to prevent the tank from cracking due to permafrost. I'm no expert, but I've taken a few classes relative to this.
  23. Let me look into the materials they used, and I'll get back with a better answer. Just have to find that Tribune story.
