I'm with bhogg on those 89 style blue road jerseys. I am not a fan of grey jerseys, but I did like the 1990 version of greys with the skinny "CHICAGO" across the chest. I loved the 89 unis, though.

Oh, and get rid of the ridiculous "Walking Bear" logo and bring back the 80's Cubbie logo.

Not sure about the first part of your post, but I wholeheartedly agree with that last part.

I wouldn't mind the blue jerseys back for (like they said) SELECT games.

In 2005-2006 they wore the blue jerseys more than they wore the home/roads. If they wore the blues 20 times a year, I'd actualy like them.

I'd almost take the old 70s powder blue road unis for the boring as hell greys we currently sport on the road. If we do have to stick with the greys, make them sleveless with blue shirts underneath. Also, how about mixing in an old jersey every now and again...maybe for Sunday home games. Love the home pinstripes though...

Paradoxically, I love the blues, hate the grays, but sort of enjoyed the 'white or gray' thing with no alternates last year. I'm a little conflicted at this news.

as i've said, i really dislike the blues, and a lot of it was the frequency with which they were worn. when left up to the pitchers, you saw them at least 3/5 of the time. Z, Lieber and others ALWAYS wore them

Bring back blue and make them nameless

Bring back nameless pinstripes

Script the Grays.

I am with you 100%.

I've always wondered what a non-pinstripe home white would look like. I'd have to see it before forming an opinion, but it could look good.

Oh, and if you're bringing back the blue, put the logo from the pinstripes on them instead of the walking cub.

Welcome to the 1950's, Sir

Here's some various mock jerseys I made a long time ago.

Just for the record, I wasn't in favor or not in favor of any of those I posted, they were mostly just examples or a result of someone asking "I wonder what such and such would look like"

My favorite out of those though is just the grays with some blue piping added.

I liked the blues at first, but they got old in a hurry.

I only have one blue jersey (unless you count my 80's style Sandberg), and that is a Sosa I bought just after the 98' season, with the Harry and Hey Hey patches.

Personally, get rid of the pinstripes. Go with the straight white uni's for the home jersey (bck to the 20-40's style uni. And go with the 70's powder blue. The grey/gray unis are like the unis of the NBA and they are plain. At worst, I would prefer a similar blue top to that of the Dodgers.

No sirs, those jerseys were glorious.

84 and 89 weren't bad years.

Let's teach these youngins' a thing or two!!!

I love the 84' jerseys, and have been begging my wife to get me the exact one you posted.

Ryno, get on ebay and you can get an '84 Sandberg shirt for less than $150 -- sometimes less than $100. Granted, it may be a M and N knockoff, but it didn't matter to me. I just know there's no way I'm paying over $300 for a jersey.

I'll put in my two cents and say I also never liked the blue jerseys. I don't even want to see them again at selected games. I'd prefer no games... ever. I agree to changing up the road unis, and perhaps even a no-pinstripes home alt, but I wouldn't want to get rid of the pinstripes altogether.

i remember someone suggested a red alternate jersey last year. So I made this, and he quickly changed his mind:

I have a few of those M&N "knockoffs" - I'm assuming they are fakes because of the price I got them for on Ebay. I got two pinstripe and two blue Sandberg 84 jerseys. Going to sell a couple when the season rolls around.

I am a big fan of the white pants, blue jersey road unis.

That's blasphemy!

It could be worse, we could be wearing these outfits from the 70's:

Not only did those jersey look hideous, they were too tight, inspiring legions of man-boobed fans to show off their "goods."
