Blue Jerseys Back?

The Cubs are considering bringing back the alternate blue jerseys for select games. No word on whether they will only be used when Carlos Zambrano pitches.

 

 

Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the blue jerseys, but I did sort of miss them last year. I did like the dark blue jerseys from ST a few years ago, but we won't ever see those on the field.

Am I the only one who liked the nameless home jerseys better, BTW? At first I didn't think I'd like them, but they just had a way more classic feel to them.

 

I think they just added the names back last year so they could sell a ton of Soriano jerseys.

I've always wondered what a non-pinstripe home white would look like. I'd have to see it before forming an opinion, but it could look good.

 

Oh, and if you're bringing back the blue, put the logo from the pinstripes on them instead of the walking cub.

I like the Mets non-stiped whites. Cubs pinstripes are as legendary as the Yankees stripes though. The one thing that could be improved with the blue jerseys would be the shade of blue. Either make them the blue of the current spring training jersey's or make them the dark blue of the old ST jerseys.

I own a blue Ramirez jersey. I like it very much, about as much as I like the actual blue jersey's. 'Tis why I got it in the first place. I give it a :thumbsup:

The grays as is look classic, especially when the players wear their socks the right way and have blue sleeves all the way down to their wrists.

 

The blues in all of their various versions look like beer-league softball uniforms.

I'm not a big fan of the blue jerseys at home. They look okay on the road simply because the grays are so incredibly boring.

I'm with bhogg on those 89 style blue road jerseys. I am not a fan of grey jerseys, but I did like the 1990 version of greys with the skinny "CHICAGO" across the chest. I loved the 89 unis, though.

 

Oh, and get rid of the ridiculous "Walking Bear" logo and bring back the 80's Cubbie logo.

I freakin' hate those blue pajama top things -- especially when worn at home. The Cubs' pinstripe home unis are among baseball's very best uniforms (among the best in any sport, IMO). I despise seeing those blue things take their place.

 

I don't mind the blue jerseys as fan gear because that is what they have always looked like to me. I just don't want to see them on the field.
