Individual ticket day is like a holiday to me. I'm taking 6 hours of of work. (would take the whole day off but used to much vacation already). Granted I'm doing nothing but staring at my 50 windows all day, but after I get the tickets I start planning my Chicago Vacation. I know I'm weird but this day makes me think of the fun times I will be having in Chicago in the summer.

I don't find this to be weird at all, I pretty much do the same thing!

Only problem is, work is really, really busy for me right now. I might not even have the time to get tix :(

BTW, gotta love how the Cubs have basically made every game a "Prime Game" instead of just raising ticket prices.

I just wonder with the sucess last year if it's going to be back to the waiting for 6 hours just to buy 1 game. Like it was 3 or 4 years ago. I'm hoping the limit of 42 means we will never see those days like we had when the limit was something like 160.

The 42 ticket limit has been around for at least a few years. This year will be the same as the last few and I don't think last year's division title will change much.

I'd recommend seeing how far you can push your computer at 9:30 since you have 30 minutes before tickets actually go on sale. Install a tab manager like Tab Mix Plus, which will allow you to better manage a ton of VWR tabs in each Firefox window, and get a sense of what will work for your computer. If your computer gets really slow or crashes, you'd still have plenty of time to restart the test.

Are most of the seats right behind the dugouts held by season ticket holders, or are some available to the general public?

You won't find any when tickets go on sale, although I've never tried checking on the least popular games after getting through the VWR the first time. What game(s) were you thinking of?

You used to be able to pull up some of those seats shortly before the games, but it seems like those opportunities have become pretty rare for weekend games.

I was thinking of the 4/17 game against the Reds. I figured a ticket (only need one) would be relatively easy to get since it's a day game at the beginning of the year against a non-rival, but I wasn't sure.

Not sure what will be available for a game like that. However, you may want to think about waiting for the dugout or bleacher box lottery on sale date. I'm sure someone here will get a first or second chance email and can help you out.

Yeah, that's not a bad idea either. I'll probably try that if I can't get anything good when tickets go on sale next week.

Has anyone ever had luck with Firefox? I have never got through using them. Tried equal amount of windows of IE and Firefox last year. I never got through with Firefox. Could be coincidence though.

I did pretty decently for myself through Firefox last year.

I've always had better luck with IE, but we're two of the few to have disproportionate success through IE. Unless IE7 has tab management abilities that allow you to load up each window with 50-75 tabs and be able to keep them relatively visible with no scrolling necessary, Firefox is probably your best bet.

Does anyone have other tips to post? I'm either going to update the first post with all the tips or create a new thread that will have the link, as well, once it's up.

Aside from opening day, it does look like there was a sellout at the GABP for a Saturday game. I doubt it went quickly and the others didn't sell out, though.

Anyone know when individual Cards tickets go on sale? And with their 5,000 options for multi-game packages is it actually best to just get them on eBay?

My birthday is cinco de mayo, and I'd like to see the Cubs beat up on the Cards in their new stadium.

I'm told it's the 29th, but I haven't actually been to the website to check myself.

Cubs.com[/url]"]CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs today announced 2008 single-game tickets for the dugout, bullpen and Bud Light bleacher box seats will go on sale Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available exclusively on http://www.cubs.com and only on a single-game basis.

An announcement for the sale of the new bullpen box seats being added between the home dugout and the left field bullpen is forthcoming.

Other individual game tickets for the 2008 regular season will go on sale this Friday, February 22.

The dugout box seats run from the edge of the Cubs dugout to the visitors' dugout while the bullpen box seats run at the end of the visitors' dugout to the right field bullpen. The 252 Bud Light bleacher box seats are located in the first rows of the right field section of the Bud Light bleachers, near the foul pole.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase up to six Dugout, Bullpen or Bud Light Bleacher Box tickets. A virtual waiting room will be used for all Internet orders. The virtual waiting room will begin accepting customers at 9:30 a.m. on March 14. At 10:00 a.m., customers will be randomly selected from the virtual waiting room to begin purchasing tickets.

Pricing for these individual tickets:

Value Games Regular Games Prime Games
Dugout Box $100 $175 $300
Right Field Bullpen $80 $160 $220
Bud Light Bleacher $34 $56 $68

So it looks like there won't be a lottery this year, but those dugout box seats have skyrocketed.

I heard that it was the 1st, which is next Saturday. It's been on a Saturday for at least the last couple years too.

And my God... $300 for a Dugout Box seat? Nothing quite like a 20% increase in prices there.

I just found a link to the page which has the schedule where you choose which game you'd like to buy tickets to... only the games aren't on there yet. The title of the page is Chicago Cubs Ticketing, which I think is what it was last year. I'm hoping that come Friday at 10, the link works and I can bypass the VWR. That'd be incredible. I'll definitely share the link with you guys if it works.

This sucks.

I may not find out if I got the job at wrigley till next saturday. I called in today but they said it's still under evaluation. I need to know by friday so I can know whether to buy tickets or not.

I think if I don't know by friday then I'll just buy some tickets then sell them off later if I get the job.

Red Sox tickets aren't going on sale tomorrow morning though.

Do Phillies - Mets games usually sell out?

And that's 7:30 ET, FYI to those who are planning on trying to get tickets.

+1 for better luck with IE than firefox, but I've never used Tab Mix Plus. Just installed it. I'm no good with these interwebs, so someone is going to have to help me out. Looks like all I really need to do is go into Options>Display, and change "when tabs don't fit width:" to "multi-row".

Looks good from there. Do I need to do anything else?

Also increase the maximum number of rows to display.

But just try opening up a ton of blank tabs and make sure that they're manageable.

Ohh duh. I had opened a bunch up but didn't go past 3 rows...increased it to 20. This should be perfect.
