An FYI to anyone interested, most Red Sox single tickets go on sale in about ten minutes.

Thanks! I got great seats for Brewers and Cardinals games.

Any trick to getting in? I'm still stuck in the VWR.

Me too. I did find out that the most windows I can open in IE is 48. Couldn't get Firefox to open more then one window. Glad the Cubs start on a Friday. I'm guessing a Saturday makes the demand on the first day even higher.

No real trick. It all comes down to having windows open and being lucky, I guess.

Saw on the Red Sox site you could get multiple games once you got in. Since MLB likes to stremline things I'm guessing the Cubs will do the same thing. I'm not sure I like this. If you don't get in right away you are probably screwed.

The Red Sox and Cardinals have always allowed buyers to purchase tickets for multiple games in one transaction, but the Cubs have not. I doubt they change that this year. I'd prefer that they did allow multiple purchases in one transaction. As it is, buyers pay separate fees for each game.

It's all about the in-demand games, I'd imagine. If the Red Sox had put Opening Day and the Yankees games on sale, I doubt they would have allowed multiple transactions in one trip through the VWR.

It would be nice if the Cubs could somehow work things where you could purchase tickets to multiple games that are less popular, though, but it would probably be a big pain for them.

The multiple service charges does suck but unless you get through right away I think you would get shut out more often then not. How they do it now gives everyone a chance at getting non White Sox tickets if a person is dedicated in getting the tickets.

Anyone know when Cardinals tickets go on sale? I'd like to pick up a few for the weekend series in May.

I've been searching the Cards site and can't seem to find anything. That's actually what I came in here looking for and nobody seems to know. I'll see if I can hit up the sports radio guys tomorrow in STL and get some info.

Was labor day a prime game last year?

IIRC it was, but I'll have to wait until I go home and can take a look at my refrigerator.

Nope. Both Memorial Day and Labor Day were regular dates last year, not prime dates.

There are only 5 non-prime dates after mid-May this year. Yes, 5. Last year there were 19. Of course, part of that is due to there only being 9 home games in September and 3 of those are a Cardinals weekend series, but last year there were even 2 value dates in September.

Ugh, I don't envy the day of opening up hundreds of IE windows and trying to score tix when I need to get work done :(

Brewer tix go on sale Feb 23rd, BTW.

I like the idea of a Saturday rather than a Friday. That's going to be one ticket-hounding-madness weekend.

Are most of the seats right behind the dugouts held by season ticket holders, or are some available to the general public?

You won't find any when tickets go on sale, although I've never tried checking on the least popular games after getting through the VWR the first time. What game(s) were you thinking of?

You used to be able to pull up some of those seats shortly before the games, but it seems like those opportunities have become pretty rare for weekend games.

I was thinking of the 4/17 game against the Reds. I figured a ticket (only need one) would be relatively easy to get since it's a day game at the beginning of the year against a non-rival, but I wasn't sure.

I just wonder with the sucess last year if it's going to be back to the waiting for 6 hours just to buy 1 game. Like it was 3 or 4 years ago. I'm hoping the limit of 42 means we will never see those days like we had when the limit was something like 160.

Not sure what will be available for a game like that. However, you may want to think about waiting for the dugout or bleacher box lottery on sale date. I'm sure someone here will get a first or second chance email and can help you out.

Individual ticket day is like a holiday to me. I'm taking 6 hours of of work. (would take the whole day off but used to much vacation already). Granted I'm doing nothing but staring at my 50 windows all day, but after I get the tickets I start planning my Chicago Vacation. I know I'm weird but this day makes me think of the fun times I will be having in Chicago in the summer.
