For those who still care. My real interest ended yesterday. My favorite team (Bears) spent the season in hibernation, my third favorite team (Panthers) had yet another season just on the wrong side of .500, and my second favorite team (Colts) flamed out yesterday. Last year was memorable for me with my two favorite teams playing against each other in the Super Bowl, and I was so into it that I watched most of the NFL Network coverage the week leading up to the game. This year I'll watch the conference championships and Super Bowl, but it's a real letdown.

Sunday can't get here fast enough.

I thought the NFC championship was on Saturday.

sometimes just for fun we do "Over/Under" games at work. Yesterday I proposed an over/under of 5 above for the temperature at kickoff of the giants-packers game.

when i left this morning, we had 4 "over" votes and 11 "under" votes.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

I know it won't happen but please dear God make it so.

If the White Sox, Cardinals and Packers win it all in 3 consecutive years, I might seriously do something bad. Those are the 3 teams I hate more than all others

If the packers and chargers meet in the superbowl i might have to change my pants.

It would be a situation like NC talked about in the open of this thread. My two favorite teams. Yipee. Go Chargers and Packers.

i am looking forward to some creative signs in New England....you have to imagine they are foaming at the mouth to get under Phillip Rivers' skin

Oh, I'm sure. Hopefully he decides to keep his focus on the field and not in the stands. Oh, and LDT and Gates need to be healthy.

Hah, Rivers keep his focus on the field?

Well, if all else fails, have someone Tonya-Harding his leg and put Volek out there again.

If the Chargers and Giants win we might have the most uninteresting and disappointing Super Bowl in recent memory. The Cowboys and Packers have the fan following few have, the Patriots have potential history on their side, we saw some of the most explosive offenses in recent memory this season, and while LT is as good as anyone in the NFL there really are not any crowd favorites playing if that happened. 90% of the US hates Eli or NY in general and 90% of the US doesn't give a damn about San Diego.

I think the Giants vs. Baltimore was one of the worst in recent history, and while Tennessee vs. St. Louis was one of the greatest Super Bowls in recent memory, that game was extremely regional in terms of national (dis)interest

I forgot about the Giants/Baltimore, that was one giant crap fest. At least St. Louis had the Kurt Warner story and unexpected season out of nowhere. Tennessee had the music city miracle as well.

If the Chargers and Giants make the Super Bowl, I guarantee 90% of the angle will be "Manning vs. Rivers - Which team made the right draft choice?"

Bears/Colts was pretty regional too last year. Did anyone outside of Illiana and Tennessee (Manning) care?

Both teams have a pretty wide fan base. The Colts mostly just because of Manning. Wasn't it one of the highest rated superbowls?
