Well. I can already hear the sound of domestic violence ringing throughout Wisconsin.

alot of sheep rapings tonight....alot

So those are your plans for this evening?

Is the Brett Favre Press post game conference on yet? I'm anxious to hear the pity party, woah is me plea.

he'll play the "i'm back, no i'm not, yes, i am... no i'm not" game. its great times for all of us.

Does he start that already?

probably not, but a bears fan can have some fun...right?

No.

wasn't asking you...this was your chance and you're team blew it for ya. favre is gone and ryan grant ain't leading you anywhere.

Yeah, this was our chance. Never mind the fact that we're the youngest team in the NFL. If Favre leaves, so be it. I have full confidence that Rodgers can step in and do a productive job. And as far as Grant goes, the jury is still out on that.

I seem to remember an NFC team full of a solid and stable core, with the consensus 'most talented team in the NFC' coming into this year. Now it has more holes than Swiss cheese. You have to take advantage of these opportunities otherwise it can fall apart with the blink of the eye. I had all the confidence in the world that Benson could take over for TJones as well............

Honestly, I think the Giants can beat the Pats. I don't think they will, but I think they have the talent to pull it off. I hope it's a great game. I'm looking forward to it.

This is pretty much how I feel. I expect the Pats to win; probably by 10-14. But the Giants can win, and I definitely don't think they'll get destroyed.

Strahan, Umenyiora and Tuck will have to have big games to cover for a weak (I'm being generous) secondary. If the rush can get to Brady and throw him off, the Giants have a great chance to win.

Offensively, Eli must play at least as well as he did tonight and maybe up to the level he did against the Pats before. The offense will have to keep the playoff turnover streak going too - Eli's INT in the first game really hurt them.

Besides all that, I think the Giants have a great shot. :D

A good pass rush is the key to beating the Pats, maybe the key to winning NFL games (along with good QB play). And basically any team's QB is going to have to play well to win the Super Bowl. So, while I agree, those two things are keys to win every game. The Giants will obviously have a smaller margin of error than the Pats, but those will keys for both teams.

Along with generating a pass rush with their front four, the Giants must convert in the red zone. That means touchdowns, not field goals. You can move the ball on the Pats, especially through the air. However, to beat them, you MUST score TD's. The Chargers didn't -- if they did, they might've won the game. If the Giants get to Brady, don't turn the ball over and score 7's not 3's in the red zone, they'll be right there at the end. But that's true of nearly every game played.

nobody will get consistent pressure against the pats by just rushing their front four.

The Colts did until perhaps the very end, and they have one less pass rusher at DE than the Giants do. I'm unsure if the Giants did or not, I only saw the last few minutes.

the colts got some pressure on brady, but not it wasn't like he was consistently throwing under heat. the giants did not get much pressure; brady was 32-42 for 350 yards in that game, and the giants only got one sack.

their offensive line is too good to be beaten by 4 pass rushers unless you somehow manage to get bruce smith, reggie white, l.t. and warren sapp in their prime. if you want to have a chance you have to blitz.

I'm not sure how the Colts had a chance then. They basically do not blitz. I doubt the Giants were blitzing much either, but, like I said, I didn't see that game. And just because Brady had a good game and the Giants only had one sack doesn't mean they didn't get pressure. Brady's really good.

I'm not saying the Giants shouldn't blitz some. But, to win, their front four must bring some heat. Maybe they can't; if so, they'll lose.

And that's why we would've been blown out.

I'm taking this loss pretty well. Mainly because I knew we would've been killed in the Super Bowl and because our run is just beginning. I'm still going to avoid all of the sports networks for the next two weeks.

if anyone can, it would be the giants. prollly the best pass rushing team in the league (except maybe indy when healthy?). i think that will determine this game, along with eli's decision making. if the giants win both those they have a good chance of winning. of course how likely is that? pats should sitll win.

EDIT: also, brady is great when given time, prolly as good as peyton. but under pressure he is significantly worse than peyton decision making wise, its definitely the pats weakness, luckily they have an AMAZING O-line to protect him, and are willing to go mass protect to let him go to work on D's

Why? It's going to be all about how even though the Pack lost, it was such a great resurgence for Favre, and blah blah.

You Packer fans have always had it easy when it comes to this -- whenever you lose, the media just falls back on the Favre legend. When the Bears lose, you'd think it was Armageddon by comparison.

Also someone please get Tom Coughlin to the hospital. Is he aware of something called frostbite? Jesus.

yes

its almost funny looking

Every time they showed Tom last night, my wife would pipe up with "Just looking at that guy make me look cold!! Look at him!" This while numerous other guys were in giant thermal coats and ski masks.

Anyone else get the comedy of announcers constantly preaching that this is a quarterback's league and you can't make any noise without a good QB, but the last 2 NFC QB's are Eli Manning and Rex Grossman? I'm just sayin...

I wonder how Tiki Barber feels right about now. Wasn't he the guy who said Eli doesn't "have it" and blah blah blah??

Oh man, excellent point. I hope he's choking on his words right now. I really liked him better when he was playing football and not talking.

It goes to show us -- just because a player was in the same locker room with a guy doesn't mean he has a clue how his career will turn out. This must be sweet vindication for Eli...

because he played three error-free games in a row? case of good timing more than anything. fact is, he still pisses the ball away too much for a guy who's in his fourth year now. he's not as bad as everyone thought he was coming into this year, but he's also not as good as he's being made out to be now.
