So? The Patriots players publicly said that they considered it a special game and one of the most important of their lives. The Giants got their best shot in week 17, they didn't hold anything back.

Manning had a better rating than Brady in that game.

But with two weeks to prepare, I gotta go with Belichick having a damn good gameplan in line.

Wow, can't believe he made that.

dag nabbit, the Giants are going to get absolutely murdered in the Super Bowl. That game is going to be a bore.

Edit: d.a.m.n.i.t. is censored??? Hahaha.

they almost beat NE in week 17 tho

Yeah, when the Pats had everything sewn up except the perfect record. Means little, if anything.

They both played their starters the whole game.

I'm sure they'll tell the media whatever they want to hear. They're not going to say what the reality is: if they lose the game, it means absolutely nothing in terms of the actual goal, which is winning the Super Bowl.

I guess I'll be rooting for the Giants, but I'm going to find it tough to root for Eli Manning. I hate that whiny little bitch. I'll never root for New England though.

Did you hate John Elway too? What about Bo Jackson?

I was pretty indifferent on Elway. And who could hate the man who dominated Tecmo Bowl?

First off, did you happen to be able to get a chance to see that game? Teams that have nothing to play for often don't play at the huge intensity level that was present in the Patriots-Giants game.

And it's not in the Patriots public interest to say that they were interested in going for 16-0. If they wanted to be "correct", they should have said the outcome of the game didn't mean anything to them. The fact that they said the incorrect thing made the chance that they were being completely honest much greater. This Patriots team wanted to go 19-0 for a long time now. They've won Super Bowls, they wanted perfection, and they wanted all the records.

Now, that doesn't mean the Giants will be able to play as well in the rematch. They had a kickoff return for a TD, which is somewhat of a fluke. Eli played really well in that game. The Giants put up a very good effort, and yet still couldn't get the ball with a chance to tie in the 4th quarter. If they don't have a good game in the SB, it could very easily be a huge blowout.

I want to die.

On the plus side, you're a Cubs fan, so you should be able to handle heartbreak better than most.

The Packers didn't deserve to win that game. There were a few drives they couldn't have stopped ME.

Sickening. Absolutely sickening.

The Patriots have won their last 10 games by 4, 46, 3, 3, 31, 10, 21, 3, 11 and 9. Yes, there have been a couple blowouts, but more single-digit games. The Patriots team that was dominating everyone the first eight weeks has vanished. The Giants also had a 12-point lead against them in week 17, and lost by only 3. Now, I certainly think the Pats will win; and there's a chance they win big. If they win, they will go down as probably the greatest NFL team ever. But I really don't understand everyone claiming the Giants will be thoroughly dominated. The Pats were 21-point favorites today at home against a team with an injured QB, RB and TE and won by nine.

packer fans can suck big balls just like favre.

you choked at home, and you deserve it.

I have a feeling that this is going to turn out a lot like the last time the Gnats were in the SB... lopsided with the AFC team destroying them.

LOL, yeah telling their legions of fans that the perfect record isn't the ultimate goal and therefore that game wasn't paramount would have gone over real well.

Players aren't stupid. They know what the real goal is. You can try to psyche yourself up for the "perfect record" all you want, but these games now are *elimination* games -- they affect careers, they affect salary levels -- how far you go now can directly affect your very lifestyle. There's no way you can say there's no difference.

Watch and see in 2 weeks how much of a difference it makes.

Congrats to the Giants, they avoided shooitng themsleves in the foot and deserve to represent the NFC.

Good luck and you'll need it.

I doubt Favre will retire now, no one wants to go out with that final series.

Good call on Favre and the cold. :)

Brett's not one to pass the blame. He'll admit he screwed up, and he'll take responsibility.

The Packers played like crap today. They didn't deserve to win.
