Rich Rod confirmed in an audio interview on Rivals that Manningham and Arrington both are entering the NFL draft, and that Mallett won't be playing for Michigan next year, meaning he's transferring somewhere. I'm not that upset about Mallett because he didn't seem to fit in with other players and has some serious accuracy issues, but I was hoping Manningham and Arrington were going to stick around for their senior seasons. Michigan always has quality recievers, and there is depth at the position, but now we basically have no experience at the QB, RB, and WR positions. Could be an interesting and quite bad season next year.

man if we are ever gonna beat michigan, this is the year. psu should actually be better than michigan overall.

Michigan will have a bunch of talent, but they're going to be awfully young. You're still Penn State though, so I'm not too worried about winning that game.

Yeah, PSU is no Appalachian State.

isnt Mallett transferring to UCLA?

I hope so.

IU's probably done with bowl games for another 14 years. Lose our best 2 players (Hardy, Porter), but do bring back Kellen Lewis and a decent crop of small speed WRs. DBs will be overhauled. But front 7 should be mostly in tact, including probable all conf. Greg Middleton.

I agree with the overall expected decline of the program (see, Rants). IU isn't likely to be very good next year. However, especially if 6-6 gets it done, IU could be in bowl position next year, too. They won't be as good as this year, but they have four very winnable non-conference games. Seven wins is probably the ceiling, with four to six wins most likely.

Mallett officially leaving U of M

Article says he's interested in transferring to either UCLA, Arkansas, or Texas A&M, among some other schools.

There's a very good chance Tennessee hires Mike DeBord and Steve Loeffler, meaning Mallett would be headed to the Vols - according to reports. I'd say the two most likely destinations right now are UT and UCLA - the two teams most interested in Loeffler.

Personally, I'd love Mallett at Tennessee because he'd have a couple years to work on his accuracy issues while Jonathon Crompton starts. Or, if he looks great after his transfer year, he could beat out Crompton in 09.

Mallett following Loeffler makes a ton of sense. I was hoping we'd keep him around just so Mallett would stay and how great he's been with QBs in his time at Michigan, but oh well. However if Tennessee hires DeBord too, that would pretty much outweigh the gain they'd get from hiring Loeffler. He's a terrible OC.

As for '08, I'm excited about the season despite the millions of question marks. I like the Rodriguez hiring a lot. I'm excited to see McGuffie play. I really like our chances at getting Terrelle Pryor after Mallett leaving/Ohio State losing the NC game. With all the changes, I haven't been this ready for the season to start in a long time.

next season cant come soon enough.

can't blame you. next year should be a very special year for missouri football... i could honestly see them winning the title; they legitimately have one of the 10 most talented teams in the country.

Not to mention that they don't have Oklahoma on the schedule. Of course, there's always the Big 12 title game but that's not a sure thing.

Texas, Illinois, and Kansas are their only real potential stumbling blocks before the Big XII title game, and they should win those. I think they'll get pounded by OU again, though, in the Big XII title game. But who knows. Maybe it'll be the year Mizzou wins its first Big XII title in a major sport.

Just wondering if anybody knew when tickets go on sale for the Illinois-Mizzou game?

I couldn't find a specific date for this year, but last year they went on sale in mid-June.

Thnanks man, I looked all over and couldnt find a date either. I wonder how hot of a ticket this will be. Sell out or no? About 20 guys from my work are planning on trying to go.

Terrelle Pryor has added LSU to the list of teams he's considering. I know we really probably aren't going to get him, but it's nice to get added to the list at this point. He'd be a huge addition to the recruiting class.

I'm thinking we could get a sellout. Season opener, both teams should be Top 15, not a far drive. I'm really looking forward to it, last year was a great atmosphere and if it's sold out this year it'd be nuts.

It doesn't sell out every year?

Terrelle Pryor will be visiting LSU next weekend.

Link.

Thats better than adding USC. I still think Michigan is going to pull out Pryor.

I agree. I'm just happy to see LSU have a shot at him.

Anything new on Julio Jones? Still hoping Texas Tech gets him, even though its a long shot and I am not big Tech fan.
