As long as we're pissing on all things Mizzou, I'm gonna point out that Illinois has like a 75 game winning streak against them in basketball. And we suck this year.

You say that like we don't suck. We're way worse than you guys are this year (and most years)

Aww you guys aren't that bad. I've heard, while the NCAAs are out, you still might play in a post-season tourney. No, not the NIT. The other one. The CBI. Seriously.

http://www.kansascity.com/167/story/494200.html

That exists? Honestly, I'm just ready for this class of seniors to leave and give MA a chance with some of his own kids. Hopefully they aren't thugs.

In all seriousness, it's a shame there have been no good hoops squads at Mizzou while you've been there. It's a great, intense rivalry when both teams are good. That's what made the football game so amazing this year. And that's why I hope (and you should to), that KU continues to be decent at FB. It's just way more fun. I really hope Mizzou's hoops teams get to the point where it's fun to beat them again.

It'll never happen.

It's always fun to watch a pissing match between two also-rans.

Like a Cowboys fan arguing NFL.

swing and a miss

at least the Cowboys have more than one season to brag about

Wasn't the HBO TV show "Oz" based on the Dallas Cowboys?

And yet, the Cowboys still don't have as many NFL Championship/Super Bowl victories as either the Packers (BOOOOO) or the Bears. 12 and 8 respectively.

What is going on with Iowa Hawkeye football? They had another 2 guys arrested yesterday on drug charges, 1 of them a felony charge facing 7 years in prison. Wow

http://www.qctimes.com/articles/2008/02/23/news/local/doc47c0a783a4f33330865171.txt?sPos=1

The arrests were merely the latest legal troubles for Iowa’s football players:

— Dominique Douglas and Anthony Bowman pleaded guilty to credit card fraud, an aggravated misdemeanor reduced from a felony

— Clint Huntrods was arrested for public intoxication

— Four players, Ryan Bain, Bradley Fletcher, Ben Evans and Lance Tillison, were arrested for drunken driving

— Dana Brown was arrested for domestic assault

— Three players, Ricky Stanzi, Ryan Donahue and Tyler Gerstandt, were arrested for possession of alcohol under legal age

— Brandon Myers was arrested for interference with official acts

Nelson was arrested last August for failure to appear after an arrest for driving while his license was suspended.

Should we rename these guys the Bengals?

Wow impressive statement. Cowboys have only been around since 1960, and have won a Championship 1 every 9.4 years. Packers 1 every 7.3 and the Bears have 9 Championships 1 every 9.7 years.

The Cubs have equally as many WS Championships as the Marlins, is that equally as impressive?

Northwestern has reportedly hired Jim Phillips, current NIU AD, as our new Athletic Director.

I'm pretty happy with the move. It's been rumored for a while. His fundraising success at NIU should translate pretty well. It has to be the main focus right now.

That and not having to go to class. It will just get in the way of honing his football skills and talking to his agent.

Wow I had no clue how big of a jackass Terrelle Pryor supposedly is.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/10824-College_Football-Terrelle_Pryor_s_Behavior_Leaves_Much_To_Be_Desired-240208

There are some really concerning things in that article if its true.

(a) it was written by the brother of someone who plays for south fayette, which certainly calls his objectivity into question. i also highly doubt that the player was hurling basketballs into the crowd and spouting off racial slurs without any rebuke from the officials or coaches.

(b) media reports i saw of the game suggested that the conduct of the South Fayette fans was very unbecoming, and that pryor actually exercised a good deal of restraint until the game was over. given how much media was at the game, don't you think that if he had conducted himself in the way that this piece claims, a real news source would have reported on it?

Yea that is why I put supposedly, and said if its true. I seen who it was written by and was skeptical, but still found it interesting.

Could this finally be it in the BTN/Comcast negotiations?

ChicagoSports.com[/url]"]Sources have confirmed a SportsBusiness Journal report that after more than a year of tense negotiations, the sides have agreed on the framework for a deal.

Negotiations continue over issues such as new media and video on demand, but officials expressed a high level of optimism that a deal would be completed, certainly in time for football season.

One insider quantified his optimism as a 95 out of 100.

..........

The breakthrough in negotiations came when Comcast backed off its assertion that the BTN was a "niche" channel that belonged on its sports tier at $6.95 per month rather than extended basic.

BTN officials insisted on wide distribution at a little less than $1 per subscriber per month.

Sources said Comcast is prepared to put the channel on extended basic for more than 90 percent of its subscribers. Philadelphia, on the fringes of Big Ten territory, would be excluded.

They better have this agreed upon before the football season. I missed almost all of the Michigan games last year because of the stupid Big Ten Network.
