Hudson is a big part of the reason Webb won the cy young in 2006. One of the few real difference makers on defense, IMO.

I think this trade from Oak's standpoint even with factoring the 1-2 punch of Haren and Webb.

Reports are also around that Randy Johnson is telling everybody he will pitch next year. Johnson obviously wont be he #1 he was a few years back, but as a #3 or 4 he could make that DBacks rotation pretty damn good. This is all dependant on Johnson staying healthy all season, which is doubtful.

Just got in from being out all day. Man, what a shock. Boy, I wish we had gotten him. Hendry just has to engineer a trade for a front line pitcher. We need someone who is lights out. When it comes to Santana or maybe even Bedard, I would pretty much consider everyone expendable.

I had the DBacks down for a losing season this year, last year was extremely lucky for them and that rotation was terrible going into the year. With Haren as the #2 a lot has changed though, Davis is still crap and Livan and Randy are shells of their former self but if a young arm can come out with a big year(Im' look at you Owings!) they are a legit rotation suddenly.

I don't really like the return for the As. Gonzalez is a stud prospect, but the rest I'm not too excited about, and it just seems like quantity over quality which I'm not a big fan of. Especially when you factor in how cheaply Haren is signed for the next 3 years. I'm not saying they needed some Pirates-esque return of a guy who has a year of major league experience and is a mediocrity, but I'd have rather had somebody who was more of a sure thing to produce at the major league level than Gonzalez and a handful of take your chances.
