Farnsworth? Jose Hernandez? Benito Santiago? GlenAllen Hill? Sosa?

I'm guessing Karchner never saw Sosa do it. Sosa has managed to not be named in anything, so if he did it, he did it very discreetly.

I could see Farnsworth easily. And Hill is in the report, so could be.

The real report is nothing like the one posted earlier. I'm surprised about Gagne but most of these guys were no-brainers to pinpoint.

Really? I'm not surprised by Gagne at all. He was a beast a few years ago and then broke down.

I highly doubt that Karchner would have been sharing an apartment with any of those guys besides Farnsworth.

Good point. Hmmmm...Tyler Houston, Terry Adams?

So what the hell is the point of this report? We all knew performance enhancing drug use was somewhat widespread in the sport of baseball. It's not like the Mitchell Report provides an all inclusive list of users. If we knew the name of everyone who used, then the report could be beneficial..As is...I'm failing to see what benefit this provides...?

I don't know the point, but hopefully it can be a tipping point were it becomes less and less of a story. I do think there needs to be more of a concerted effort to keeps kids from playing with roids, and perhaps this can shed a little more light on that subject.

But when all is said and done, there probably isn't a point, other than giving Bud a chance to say "get the hell off my back already."

It looks like Glenallen's use came from playing with the Mariners in 1998 maybe...

"Hill also said he met this player

during the 1998 season. Hill said that “David” admitted using steroids and was knowledgeable

about its effects and the different types of anabolic steroids.

In late 2000, Hill contacted “David” and was given Radomski’s contact

information. According to Hill, he had approximately five telephone conversations with

Radomski about the use and effects of steroids. Hill recalled that Radomski sold him Sustanon.

Hill believed he paid him by check in either late 2000 or early 2001. According to Hill, he never

used the anabolic steroids that he bought from Radomski."

99% to be Segui?

For sure Tyler Houston. My guess at a good formula for lots of users:

Highly touted prospects who don't pan out will try anything.

Sosa was smart about it. He probably got his roids from the Dominican. Didn't he get robbed or lost 10k in cash once? I don't know the specifics.

The comparison to Northern Ireland wasn't about saying they are equal, it was about saying it's difficult to forgive and forget the past, and move on. I don't see how anybody could have a problem with that.

not being in the report =/= not doing steroids

This is why this is a huge waste of everybody's time. Nobody's going to be exonerated ever because people have their personal beliefs on who was using and they'll never let them die. Not on the list? List must be a joke.

Glenallen Hill..... :(

:(

But really, do you think he hit that 8393923 foot home run by himself?

he should've just used a corked bat, right?

Matt Karchner pitched for two teams in Major League Baseball between 1995 and

2000, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox. Members of my investigative staff

contacted him as part of our effort to interview former major league players.

Karchner said that during spring training in 1999, he observed two of his Chicago

Cubs teammates inject themselves with steroids in an apartment that Karchner was sharing with

them. Karchner declined to identify the players. He said that one of the players brought the

steroids to the apartment but was afraid of needles and therefore asked the second player to

administer the shot. The second player injected the first player with steroids in the buttocks and

then injected himself.

Later that season, Karchner was offered steroids by certain of his Cubs

teammates. Karchner would not disclose the names of players who offered him steroids, but he

said that the conversations he had with them involved the general cost of steroids and discussions

of “stacking” to build lean muscle necessary for pitchers. Karchner did not report either of these

incidents to anyone at the time.

I saw that. Wood was injured in 99 though, right? So I don't think he'd be one of those guys.

my guesses are farnsworth and hill

In all honesty and with (almost) all my sosa love aside, i think it's possible that he didn't do roids. Yes his body Hulked up but he also went from being a mal-nourished dirt-poor kid to being a millionaire with access to extensive training programs and workout facilities and according to everything I've ever read - he basically lived in th gym.

Anyway, He wasn't named in the report and he has yet to have anything close to solid damning evidence put out against him so - until he does - he's clean to me.

All that said, it still seems like it was a way of life at that time in baseball so even if he did i suppose it's not that surprising.

Most of these guys are scrubs. Considering how many players were called out, I think this report favors MLB. Sure, Clemens, Pettitte, Gagne, and others are in there but overall, most of these guys are not big time players.
