I refuse to include their next two games because there's no way in hell they lose at home to the Jets or Dolphins. In fact, after the camera thing, I'm shocked that early lines only have the Pats as a 24 point favorite against the Jets. I seriously think they're going to win by at least 50.

Anyway, making the assumption that the Patriots beat the dregs of the AFC East, when, if at all, will they lose?

i just edited the title, which had said "when will be 2007-08 patriots lose", because i realized it would be hard for this year's patriots team to lose sometime during the 2008-09 season. :P

I absolutely, positively, 100% guarantee that you're right about not losing to the Bills. If they actually PLAYED the Bills during the time you mentioned there might be a 1% chance or so. However, it's actually the Dolphins, not the Bills, that they play in week 16.

Conference final against the Colts. With many of the injured players back by then the Colts will get revenge for the loss earlier in the season.

wow my original post was horribly flawed.

that being said, they have as much chance of losing to the bills as they do of losing to the dolphins in week 16.

Quite a bit of hate for the Bills considering they're a game out of a playoff spot in the AFC.

yeah, i knew they were playing the dolphins and not the bills... it was just a brain fart that i wrote bills. if they were playing the bills i would've listed that as an option (though the pats did absolutely destroy the bills in Orchard Park this year)

I'll tell you one thing, it will be very interesting to see how the Patriots passing game is affected next year without Moss and possibly without Stallworth.

I agree and as a Patriots fan I am very interested to see how the Pats passing game is affected by snow and wind at home this year during the playoffs combined with the COMPLETE lack of a running game.

Next year.
That could include losing in this season's playoffs, since they're played in January and therefore technically "next year."

why wouldn't those guys want to stay?

Moss will get a huge deal (maybe the highest ever for a WR), and the Patriots have shown over and over again with players that they refuse to hand out those types of deals. That's why he's almost certainly gone after the year, and most Patriots fans knew that it would be a 1 year experiment one way or the other.

Stallworth I think has a much larger chance of staying. No team is going to give him a monster deal, and the Patriots will want him to be one of their outside guys again next year. He stays unless some team blows him away with an offer, which is possible depending on the free agent class.

if it's just about money, then yeah. but i can't imagine that Moss, after the success he's seeing this year, would take more money to go to a crappy team

Somehow I doubt that only crappy teams will offer Moss a contract for next year.

Hopefully sometime between the "Yankees suck!" chant and the Super Bowl.

And hopefully the Colts lose too.
