Penn St.'s unis are awesome.

Even on a black and white television - you're not missing anything.

What would you prefer? A rainbow? Maybe make it out of the same stuff as those mood rings so you can get the ball to the happiest player. Seriously, their colors are Navy Blue and White, what are you looking for?

Back in the "old days," the Bears had white road jerseys with navy numbers and white pants. The change to navy pants for the road uniforms was a huge improvement - I don't see them going back.

never bet against Penn State in bowl games. no matter how craptacular their regular season, they always seem to win in the post-season

The Lions are firing Mike Martz and promoting Kippy Brown? Holy cow, that changes everything it seems. Also, I'm not sure I like the idea of Debord - though I'll admit I don't know a ton about him. Any Michigan fans care to expound on him?

Also Hosak, thanks a lot for the updates. I really appreciate you keeping me up to date.

You guys don't want DeBord. Youd be hard pressed to find any Michigan fan singing praises of this guy. He isnt very good without a whole lot of talent on the offense and its total vanilla. While he was HC at Central Mich. in his 3 years he had a win percentage of .260. After he left Brian Kelly turned things around in year 2 and 3 and now Butch Jones at least has the offense humming. UT can do much better than DeBoring. Hosak earlier brought up the name Scott Loeffler as a potential QB coach, now he on the otherhand is well respected by Michigan fans. If RRod doesnt rehire him like he should and if he went to UT he would be a good get. He was very instrumental in getting Chad Henne and Ryan Mallett.

That's the sentiment in Knoxville, as well. No to DeBord, yes to Loeffler, though that would never happen.

Frank Cignetti is gaining momentum, though I will still be surprised if it's anyone but Kippy right now.

2-1 today, and I'm not sure many people saw Miss St coming, so I'll call it a good day.

Also, PSU's are up with Notre Dame's current unis (they've had some cruddy ones in the past, but the current ones are awesome) as my favorites in the college game.

i'm 12-2 with a solid 226 points... leading the group by 33 points and ranked at 99.75% overall. I've gotten my 32 and 5 games wrong, and I've gotten my 31, 29, 27, 23, 22, 19, 16, 15, 14, 13, 10 and 7 games right.

Tonight I have 11 on Bama, but the real fun starts tomorrow with 6 games, and then another 6 on new year's day.

the bama game tonite is huge for me, since i didn't adjust my #'s #-o

I'll take Michigan for uni's. Notre Dame has good one's on days they don't wear these:

I guess PSU's roadies are more boring than ugly (in the Oregon sense). However, ND's green jerseys . . . .

http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/06/05/the-worst-college-football-uniforms-of-all-time-non-oregon-edit

This is always a difficult thing for college football fans, because everyone knows that Oregon is the be-all and end-all of hideous uniforms. They've been rocking their day-glo green and yellow combinations for decades, mixing in smatterings of black, white and truck-bed gray whenever the mood strikes them, which is constantly. There's no debate: Oregon has the worst uniforms in college football and probably in the entirety of sport. So, yeah. Brian Grummell highlighted five of the ugliest Oregon unis of all time in a separate post. The rest of the world is just trying to finish second.

You may notice that many of these "worst uniforms of all time" are recent creations. There is a simple reason for this and it resides in Oregon: Nike.

Dishonorable Mention: Penn State. What? Penn State? Yes. It's no coincidence that uncommitted recruits in EA's NCAA series have helmets that look like PSU's, as Penn State's uniform is really more of an absence of style than anything else. What one perceives as clean, classic, and unadorned is just boring to another. The kicker: you can trace the irritating trend of teams removing names from the back of their uniforms, thus confusing onlookers as to just who the hell is who on your newly "unified" team full of team players who play on a team right back to the Nittany Lion getups. While the PSU uniforms don't rise to the level of horror the following do, they're always amongst the most overrated uniforms in college.

We're Green Beer. Notre Dame's blue and gold is an iconic combination. Though many hate the Irish, none can seriously claim that they don't look good whilst getting whomped on whenever they play real competition. Unless, of course, it's a game so big Notre Dame busts out these monstrosities:

Gold helmets, gold pants, gold numbers, and green jerseys. Bleah. And it's not like the lucky charms -- they're always after me green jerseys -- actually work. Whenever the Irish have donned the green jerseys the past couple decades they've lost in them. It got so bad that last year ND broke them out against Army to break the hex.

Heard some guy on the radio suggest that Kevin Smith is the best football player in the nation.

Really?

I would take McFadden 11 times out of 10 over Smith. I think Smith will make for a decent NFL back with his size and speed, but right now he is not even a lock for a 1st round pick. Not to mention he has not even proven he can really catch the ball out of the backfield.

I think ND's current green jerseys are very snazzy, though I'm willing to concede opposing arguments. Those throwback greens looked awful though.

The ND greens with white numbers were cool. I wish they stuck with those. ND's white jerseys were a lot better before they added that gold stripe down the side.

That was only there from 2001-03. What an embarrassment.

morelli has already made three deep passes into heavy coverage when there were receivers wide open 15-25 yards down the field. he is such a dunce.

Yeah hes got a fantastic arm, doesnt know what to do with it. Doesnt put any air under them either, they are cannons.

Morelli has got to be the dumbest QB I've ever seen. Great arm, size, decent footwork and release. But he hasn't improved a lick in 4 years. He has no idea what he is doing on the football field.

if i were making his ratings for ncaa football on playstation, i'd put his arm strength at a 97, his accuracy at 75, and his awareness at -13

Penn State is one of the only football programs in the nation that regularly graduates QB's who are worse than they were in high school. they have zero idea of what they're doing with them. Joe's son is the QB coach. UGH

So it's like the Cubs with developing hitters.

Jay Paterno sucks at his job, plain and simple. And Morelli doesn't help his case by consistantly overthrowing his receivers (which is just about the only consistant thing he does).

I really like ND's green unis.

I've never cared at all for their navy jerseys. Flame away if you must.

I'm going to be in the DFW area for New Years and I'm trying to convince my wife to let me and the bro-in-law score some tickets to the Cotton Bowl.

I think you would still be able to get some pretty good tickets. I haven't been hearing anything about it though. This has the potential to be a very good game, and one I would not be suprised to see Mizzou lose.

I've found a few on Ebay I like and there are also some on craigslist. I just can't get the ok from the missus.
