quick question, why can't Roberts play SS and DeRosa play 2B?

why? because roberts is a natural 2B & derosa is a natural utility man. He is like many spare parts in that the more he plays, the more he looks like the utility guy he is. there is a reason why he has never consistently held down a starting 2B job. Ala, Jerry Hairston, Todd Walker, Fontenot & theriot. these are solid players that are best suited as spare parts like a Tony Phillips. Great guys to have around.

First I was in arbitration hearings most of yesterday. It looked really wild here.

I only rec'd 2 small text messages from my guy during the day. Spoke to him in detail last evening. Here's what I can pass on. As usual read into this as little or as much as you like:

 

Roberts: What happened yesterday was not a witch hunt by the FO to find a leak. There were Roberts to the Cubs talks and lots of them. Angelos seems to be on board now, but that could change depending on how he woke up this morning. He thinks this deal should happen soon. No trade paperwork has been faxed to MLB as of last evening.

 

 

...That's it............. After today he's out of the office till the new year......

 

Also, it is believed that the intentionally leaked false info was the info (to weed out the leak) about the Reds upping their offer for Bedard.

Bigbird also said that the reason the deal hasn't happen yet could be because the orioles are trying to get the cubs into including Cedeno too. He was told the orioles would have somebody that is not currently in their organization as their 2008 SS.
