I have it on good word that Mike Leach (Texas Tech) interviewed with the Arkansas AD today.

 

Leach is probably UCLA's #1 choice.

 

I want 1) Paul Johnson (Navy), 2) Chris Petersen (Boise State) or 3) Bronco Mendenhall (BYU).

 

Of course this assumes that Dorrell is gone by this time tomorrow (unless, it takes longer than expected to get blown out by USC).

Barring any last-minute snags, LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini will be introduced as the new head coach at Nebraska early next week, multiple sources confirmed Friday.

 

Pelini will coach the Tigers defense Saturday in the SEC championship game against Tennessee and, according to a source close to the situation, will be in Lincoln for an announcement Monday.

So how about Pittsburgh giving Wanny a 3-year extension to push his contract up to 2012? They've underachieved ever since he has came there and they reward him with a multi-year extension? Why not just slap the Athletic Director label on him and call it a day?

The best thing Wanstedt has done since getting there is recruit very well. He's about to the point, though, that those good recruits are going to have to perform. I'm surprised by the extension, I would think they'd wait until there were signs the recruits were going to perform.

I assume you mean Lane Kiffin, current Raiders coach. And if so, there's no way he's saying anything about this job until the NFL regular season is over.

What it also does is tell the new recruits, hey...I'm going to be there for a while. I don't think Wanstedt is a very good coach but you're right his strength is recruiting and they have done really well. I like how my school did it. You have 1 more year to prove you stink and this scares the recruits away for another year. If you can recruit and evaluate you can win and Robinson can do neither, and is a below average coach without a good solid plan. I'm going to go cry in my pillow now.

I think there will be a buzz in LSU to bring Fisher back as HC if Miles leaves. I've already heard as much from some people who have some connections there. On the other hand, I've heard some that are opposed to Fisher coming back since he left for basically the same position somewhere else.

 

Anything on Crowton? I wonder if he will follow Miles to UM. Im 99% certain Miles will hire a new OC if/when he comes to AA.

I'm hearing UA is offering 3.0+ million per year. I thought Davis had signed a contract with UNC, but stranger things have happened.

 

I doubt UA gets either of those 3. It would be nice, but I just can't see it happening.

I don't know what to believe right now. ESPN is still saying calling it breaking news that Miles is going to Michigan, but the Ann Arbor News and LSU rivals boards are saying he's staying with LSU. What a mess.
