oh, i would be so happy if usc played the illini.

softy mcsoft. it would be so much fun watching the illini offense bully around that usc defense.

Doesn't USC have like 85 first round picks on defense?

I think Sedrick Ellis, Lawrence Jackson, Keith Rivers and Rey Maualuga will be.

Well, if Mizzou is gonna get screwed if they lose, the only thing left to do is win. I'm actually feeling a little better about this game. The team has a swagger and is very loose right now. And by the way, all this garbage that OU is trying to use to motivate themselves is pretty stupid in my opinion. Anyways, GO TIGERS!

What have they been saying? I haven't really been paying attention to that aspect.

They're making a huge deal about the Mizzou players saying they felt they had the game but then kinda lost it with turnovers. HOLY CRAP can you believe that Mizzou players are saying that? I'll try to find a link. It's pretty ridiculous. Also, there's a story in the Post Dispatch about how when Missouri played OU in 2002 Stoops made up some quotes that Pinkel said.

Wow that's pretty pathetic. Are we supposed to just bend over for them or what? We definitely shot ourselves in the foot that game. We were up 24-23 when Pig dropped a for sure INT, then after they ended up scoring on that drive, we botched a handoff. I won't say we would've for sure beat them, because they could've outscored us in a 4th quarter shootout, but those two things basically took ourselves out of the game. Kinda sad that they need things like this to get themselves up for a game of this magnitude.

All this talk about possible scenarios if Mizzou loses is cracking me up. Mizzou is going to win, count on that. You can stop thinking about these hypothetical situations based on them losing cause it's not going to happen.

I assume you put a lot of money down on them then.

Yeah, that front 7 for USC is so soft. Maualuga and Rivers are practically teddy bears.

Assuming USC beats UCLA this weekend, they're gonna drill either OSU or Illinois if they play in the Rose Bowl.

Oregon's the only team USC has played all year that was better than OSU or Illinois. They lost to them.

the illini will beat them with their own surf boards.

Bwahahahha. Awesome.

By the way, Pom Pom Pete was out defending Dorrell today, saying things like "he's done a marvelous job."

I'm sure Carroll would love to have Dorrell get a lifetime contract at UCLA.

They lost by 7 on the road with their backup QB in the game and were driving for the tying TD when Sanchez threw the pick.

USC also outgained Oregon 378-339 and held Dixon to his worst game passing (going by passer rating) of the year. It's not like Oregon dominated the game and Dennis Dixon is a much better QB than Juice Williams. Did you see what the USC offense did to Arizona State's defense last Thursday? And Arizona State's defense is allowing fewer rushing ypg and passing ypg in an offensive league than Illinois is this year.

Not to mention that if they played in the Rose Bowl, it would be a de facto home game for USC.

I'm not debating that USC would be favored against U of I and probably by about a TD. But to say they'd drill Illinois or tOSU is quite an exaggeration.

There seems to suddenly be this prevailing notion that Illinois and Ohio St. are terrible teams, and I'm not quite sure where it's coming from.

I would if I were a betting man, but I'm not.

I remember hearing that Michigan was a good team last year also but they got drilled by USC in the Rose Bowl. And, at least in my case, the notion that OSU and Illinois aren't very good isn't exactly new. I never thought OSU was a very good team. They certainly aren't the No. 3 team in the country. As for Illinois, they'll be good in the future but they're not that great right now.

USC, Florida and a dozen other teams would drill the Illini.

How? Florida's defense can't stop FAU. How do you think they could stop Illinois?

A game between Illinois and USC would be a pretty entertaining game, I would think.
