Gosh, Arizona is ridiculous in Tucson in November against top 10 teams. UCLA 2 years ago, Cal last year and now Oregon this year.

That's how Stoops keeps saving his job.

And Ryan Leaf is horrendous for a backup QB.

The difference is that neither UCLA nor Cal lost a Heisman Trophy candidate/starting quarterback in the game.

LSU had a 12.44% chance of going through its schedule unscathed (with UGA in the SEC-C)

OSU had a 18.76% chance of going through its schedule unscathed.

neat

anyways, voters are idiots and don't look at anything you look at, so your point is null and void. voters look at "what have you done for me lately". voters put South Florida #2.

we both know LSU played a harder schedule. and we both know it wouldn't matter at all if OSU happened to lose in Week 5 while LSU lost their last regular season game.

South Florida got that ranking due to beating some good teams. Funny how Ohio State got the #1 ranking by playing a by far worse schedule but that was ok since they have a big time name.

It looks to me that the Big 12 will have a rep in the BCS Champ game no matter how it falls. It's going to take WV to keep winning and a LSU loss for them to get a shot.

yeah, OSU got some "we know who they are" votes for sure.

I'm not arguing that Meph is wrong in his observations, only that his observations are not how the voting works right now. Saying LSU deserves to be #1 over OSU because the have a statistical x% chance of running the table with their schedule is analogous to saying Troy Tulowitzki deserved ROY over Ryan Braun because he had a higher WARP3. it's true, but it's not in any way what the idiot voters are basing their highly subjective opinions on

I thought Pierre Pierce played basketball.

And was already kicked out.

And is probably in jail.

Or dead.

Anyways, all this talk about LSU is unnecessary, they're gonna lose another game and only West Virginia will be complaining when it's an all OU championship.

I wouldn't hold my breath. To whom do you think they'll lose to? They're better than any team they will face in the regular season or could potentially face in the SECCG, sans possibly UF (I'm not sure if UF in the SECCG is still possible, but if it is, I'd rather not see them again). I know they've looked like crap for the last month +, but they've played down to most of the teams. IF they minimize their errors and play a complete game, I have full confidence they'll run the table to the NCG.

If both Tennessee and Georgia lose another SEC game, I'm pretty sure Florida heads to the SEC Championship. Both have to lose, though, and I don't see that happening.

Yeah, Leaf really sucks. Bad.

And what was up with brother Ryan putting the headset on the sidelines. Dude is a 'guest' on the sideline and off a sudden is in communication with the coaches. that seemed weird to me.

If meph's way were always right we wouldn't watch the games like we do. Did he have Arizona beating Oregon? Is Oregon a better team? Yes. That to me is the best part of this game is that the teams that do the best, should be the ones on top. Granted, playing 4 patsies and then having a conference that is down gives a lesser team an advantage but I think some teams have been trying to rectify that but you get the surprise teams like Rutgers last year and Kansas this year that played a poor OOC schedule but they still had/have to win their conferences, Rutgers didn't and we'll see how Kansas does. I have no problem with Kansas going to the big game if they win over Iowa St, Mizzou, and Oklahoma (if they are the team that wins the south)

Gotta tap into a great football mind when you get the chance.

sports isn't fair though. Is it fair that the Giants would be the wildcard at 6-3 while the Seahawks would be a division winner (and host a playoff game) at 5-4?

I agree it can be unfair but all others have a type of playoff as well. I'd rather have to earn a spot in the playoffs than some voter having a say that has an agenda.

agreed. i've always been pro-playoff

I'm selfish, but I'm really bitter about how easily Illinois could be in the mix of it all.

YOU'RE bitter...I'M bitter. UM/OSU would be essentially meaningless if you guys had just beaten Iowa, because you'd have clinched a Rose Bowl berth by now.

Per Wikipedia "As of 2007, he is the quarterback coach and golf head coach for West Texas A&M University.[1]"

West Texas' season must be over. Maybe he is auditioning for a new job. Update: Looks like they won their conference for the third year in a row and start their playoffs. Leaf's pupil threw for 3200 yards and 33 TD's this year.

This has been said multiple times, but how is it true? If Michigan beats OSU it leaves them and hypothetical Illinois tied, with Michigan winning head-to-head.

one of the few good things Iowa did this year

but alas, didn't Mighigan beat Illinois? how could the Illini clinch the Rose Bowl, especially if Michigan beats tO$U?

It might have something to do with UM winning the Big 10 more recently. Or Andy's just wrong.

Glad to know that he's bitter though. What with his ties to Illinois and all.

And again, it's not just Iowa, it's McGee doing the same thing against Mizzou(throwing an INT in the end zone as they were driving for the winning TD. It's Kyle Hudson dropping a punt for no apparent reason to give UM an easy score and the lead. And yeah, I know every school has these things, but FFFFFFFFFFf

That sucks, SSR, but they way you guys have recruited, you'll likely be in the Big 10 mix year in/year out and in the occasional national picture for as long as the Zooker can keep it up.

Yeah, I'm cautiously optimistic, as I said I'm just selfish. Good to get the KU/UI good vibes taken care of now before basketball season gets into swing.(But we really don't seem to hate you guys anymore, cause that would take focus off of burning down the state of Indiana.

In the event of this hypothetical 3 way tie the team that has the most outdated Rose Bowl appearance gets the invite. If a two team tie exist without a head-to-head matchup same thing goes. Illini has'nt been to the Rose Bowl since 1984, UM and OSU have been there more recently. (at least this is how i remember it being)

Your guess is correct. The Big Ten has the dumbest tiebreaker in the history of the world, that of whoever has gone the longest without one gets the BCS bid in a tie.

I have no ties to Illinois, but little would make me happier than the UM/OSU game being meaningless.

Like I said, West Texas A&M comes up here once every two years to play a team in our coverage area. They are really good, especially passing the ball, so Leaf must be doing something right.

But it wouldn't be a 3-way tie. OSU would have 2 losses, Illinois and Michigan only 1.
