U of O for the national championship. I would LOVE to see LSU/UO and watch the SEC get crushed to shut up the people who say the SEC is the best football conference

I don't follow your logic. If LSU gets beat in the NC game, then the SEC isn't presently the strongest conference? ok.

I don't understand. My point was that national pundits continually say that the SEC is the strongest conference but the constantly ignore how strong the Pac 10 is. My point if Oregon was to beat LSU it would prove that the Pac 10 is the best conference

One game doesn't prove a thing.

I don't see how one game proves anything either.

Actually, I don't see how the Pac-10 is stronger than the SEC at all. This year it's Oregon, ASU, then 2nd tier teams like USC and Cal. There are a ton of bottom-tier teams in that conference this year, from Oregon State to Stanford to Arizona -- all are complete bunk.

The SEC is a much stronger conference overall. National pundits are saying it because it happens to be 100% correct.

Your team is really, really bad Raisin.

Cements Dorrell's fate. :D

But seriously, the only guys you can find to lateral the ball are the offensive lineman? It's great seeing 300-lb Micah Kia rumbling witht he ball...and then throwing it forward.

SEC is still much stronger. Thanks though.

best play in football, fatty running with the football. pretty awesome when he has no idea what to do with it, too.

If they win the rest of their games, they're in, as long as LSU or Oregon lose a game.

If they win out I think they're in regardless of what LSU and Oregon does. They'd be the only major conference undefeated team and, as you pointed out, will have beaten both Missouri and Oklahome late in the season. I think that would unquestionably jump them ahead of at least one of the one-loss teams.

I couldn't believe he started running down the field on that play. If you're an offensive lineman still 20 yards or more from the end zone, don't run until you are almost tackled to pitch it. Find somebody to pitch it to immediately, and then block down the field like you're supposed to. As soon as he started running I knew he'd mess up the pitch.

Stronger, but not to the extent you're making it out to be, and not because of the terrible reasoning there.

wow free shoes u. completely imploded at the end of this game... they played the chokies pretty tough, but i think it was just a little much to pull two big road upsets in consecutive weeks.

I hate IU football. That is all. ](*,)
I watched the game, and the loss is inexcusable and unforgiveable. They had the game under control, but let Northwestern back in the game due to a total boneheaded coaching call that anybod that follows college football would know better than to make. When you have a redshirt freshman coming into the game at quarterback cold on 3rd-and 6 you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ask him to pass. You run the ball and if necessary punt and play defense. The result was so predictable; interception, touchdown Northwestern, and they're back in the game. That one call could well wind up costing the Hoosiers the entire season. If that happens they should not under any circumstances consider Lynch for the permanent head coaching job. This is the same coach who led Ball State to consecutive seasons of 1-10 and 0-11, after all.

You captured my thoughts perfectly. It is such a major breakdown in proper coaching strategy that I really can't trust Bill Lynch anymore. If he is dumb enough to allow that to happen, who knows what is next?

This Indiana team should be bowling. If they lose to Purdue and miss getting a bowl invite, it will be the worst waste of talent I've seen in my lifetime. This Hoosier squad, with the schedule they have, should be bowling no question about it.

Seriously, what is the best Out of Conference win for a Big 10 team this year? Ohio State at 3-6 Washington? 3-6 Washington State at Wisconsin? 4-5 Pittsburgh at MSU?

What does this have to do with how the bowl games will play out. All I am saying is OSU will win the NT. If they end up playing LSU, then LSU will probably win. Mainly because its a home game for them. I just dont think LSU will make it. They certainly dont deserve to go in in front of Oregon. Besides Va Tech early what have they done. Win a bunch of close games against overrated SEC schools. The SEC hasnt proven a whole heck of a lot more than the Big Ten out of conference.

This is all I am going to say about this because we can sit here and bicker all day about the SEC. I am not going to change my mind. They are overhyped. I am saying OSU will win the NT and a Big Ten team will win either the Citrus or Outback bowl. If I am wrong I will come back and say I am wrong.

Well that pick lasted long!

WOOOOOO ILLINOIS!!!!!!! What a GREAT game!

If they beat Northwestern next week, that's a 9-3 season! What a turnaround for Zook! And it can only help his recruiting nationally. I was looking forward to this season, but this I couldn't have imagined a season or game like this!

7 wins might not do it anymore, though. At least not for a Big Ten bowl. Not with Ohio State, Michigan, Minnesota, and Purdue losing today.

Northwestern left the red zone three times without scores on a missed FG and two picks and had another INT that was throw into the red zone. The sure-handed lane had an easy TD catch in the front of the end zone but dropped it, had it bounce off his knee, and right into a defender's hands for the touchback. They can lead the conference in total yards all they want, but they need to figure out how to start scoring consistently. The defense did an impressive job of not giving up lengthy drives (because it was either a good stand or blowing it on long plays on 3rd and long). It certainly wasn't the offensive game that I thought it was going to be.

NU needs a win next week for 7 wins and a shot at a bowl. It'll be a winnable game, but they certainly need to play better. Especially CJ. Even though he didn't make many bad decisions today, he underthrew two balls for picks. On the bright side, they actually didn't abandon the run in the 4th, even though it wasn't giving them much. It's a good sign. And boy is Sutton a force in the passing game. They're finally starting to figure that out.

OU is going to murder Kansas.

I don't know if Kansas is even going to get to face OU. Missouri has Kansas St. and Kansas left and if they win both of those, they'll take the Big 12 North and would likely get a rematch with OU in the Big 12 title game while Kansas will be watching from home.

It's one reason. If I went to lay out the entire case of SEC vs. Pac 10, the post would be 10 pages long. Then you'd have to break out your mod powers and delete it.

I'm just trying to be helpful.

You could very well be right. I think the Big 12 is stronger this year than they have been for awhile, even though I don't think they have a real championship threat.
