It's been said many time, many ways, but JR Smith is NOT a John Paxson player. He didn't even want JR Smith in the Chandler deal, but had to take him due to contracts having to match. All things being equal, Smith would still be in New Orleans (or possibly waived by now).

 

With that said, Shannon Brown is every bit as talented as JR Smith, all Shannon is needing is the opportunity.

The Pacers are a magnet for bad PR. A guy with a outstanding warrant for a murder charge was found to be hanging out at home of Shawne Williams and apparently was tooling around in his vehicle too....this is the same awesome friend that was along for the ride with Shawne back in the fall when he got a DUI (obviously he had not killed anyone at that time).

 

That and a rape occurred at the home of Marquis Daniels over the weekend...presumably committed by a friend/acquaintance of Marquis.

 

Can't these guys pick some better friends? :banghead: The Pacers are already dead last in the NBA in attendance, they need bad PR like Kelvin Sampson needs more anytime minutes.

I know it's only been a few games, but I really like what a Gordon-Hughes backcourt would bring to us. I think it's pretty obvious that Hinrich is the guy that is falling out of favor, and for good reason too.

 

Thabo's still getting good minutes as well, which was my main concern about this deal.

I really hope Hinrich is eventually the one that falls out of favor. Granted, sample size, but the Bulls' offense has been much better the last few days when Hinrich is not on the court. I dig the free-flowing, anyone can touch the ball, just find open guys offense.

 

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. Hughes + Gooden + more minutes for the young guys has equaled a much more fun to watch and frankly much better Bulls team.

Tonight I tuned into the Mav's game(I do this every now and then) and yep, sure enough...the refs still pander to Dirk Nowitzki more than any player in the game..quite sad actually.
