Jake Renshaw Traded to O's to Finish Trax Trade

wasn't sure if this was best in the minors forum or here, but couple of things I had seen regarding a couple of folks:

additionally, from the "I know one of the girlfriends" rumor-mill - looks like Jake Renshaw has been traded to the Orioles. I'm not sure for whom or what, but hopefully we'll hear the details shortly. Perhaps Nate has heard something from within the organization?

me too Raisin - he was the most consistent arm we had last year. Oh, and he's a really great guy too. I'll miss seeing him at Spring Training.

Also I did hear that Renshaw was tossed into the deal with Baltimore as the extra guy, it was all pending that if the Cubs made into the playoffs, there would be another player involved and it sounds like Renshaw was the player.

A-ball pitcher with good stuff that a lot of people thought could turn into a decent starter or a good reliever down the road.

Shouldn't the Cubs be the ones getting an additional player in that deal? I can't believe how highly Hendry thought of Trachsel. He was and is complete garbage.

I can't believe it myself. We took his salary off Baltimore's hands (albeit for like 5 weeks) and gave up 3 (!) players for him. 3!

 

It shouldn't matter who they are, either. 3 players is a lot for a 5 week rental, let alone for Steve Trachsel.

That was a separate trade (for Bynum). That was a good trade, but the Trachsel trade was inexcusable.

At least we didn't pick up his option. Rosenthal thought we would as recently as last week.
