ND 68, St. John's 55. 37 straight at home, 18 Big East games straight at home. Harangody 20 and 6. One more sacrificial lamb (USF) before the conference tourney. Go UConn's opponents.

Tennessee beats Florida 89-86 in Gainesville for UT's first regular season outright SEC championship in 41 years. You Big 10 homers can hate on Pearl all you like, but he has this program in the elite, and with Renaldo Woolridge, Phillip Jurick, Daniel West, and likely Scotty Hopspn coming in next year, followed by Kenny Hall and :beg: Leslie McDonald, the Vols look like they could be on top for a while.

 

Disbelieve if you will. Matters not. The Vols are real.

Wisconsin fans stormed the court after beating Penn State. I mean they did clinch a share of the Big Ten title but still....SRSLY?

 

Okay I guess they did the whole trophy presentation and all that. I guess it makes more sense.

The Baylor/A&M game turned into total mayhem in the last 4 minutes.

 

 

details

 

Fans upset about calls started throwing stuff on the court. Then an A&M big set a clean, hard screen on a Baylor guard which knocked him down and he stayed on the ground for a little bit. The fans went nuts again, and as the Baylor coaches came over to see him and A&M coaches came away from the bench for the timeout, both staffs got right near the center line, started yelling at each other and got double T's.

 

Then, up by 10 an A&M player threw the ball off the backboard for a dunk with less than 2 seconds left. A bunch of stuff was thrown on the court then and even hit the ESPN broadcasters. As the coaches were shaking hands, a couple of the Baylor coaches just leaned their shoulder into Turgeon and ran into him.

Wait what? I hadn't heard this.

 

The feeling among the Rivals Basketball guys is that TN leads. With Hopson, I think we can all agree that until he signs, NOTHING is a done deal, but several people feel that UT is the team to beat here.

According to Mike Patrick Coach K saved Christmas for the troops in Iraq. He then went on to say that makes Coach K a super combination of Jesus, Santa Claus, Coach K, and Optimus Prime. God bless Mike Patrick.

 

Mike Patrick's the definition of the word "tool."

Gerald Henderson falls to the floor while holding the ball. He then calls for a timeout.

Patrick praises him for a heady play. Elmore says that had to be a travel. Patrick says maybe it wasnt. Elmore says you can't fall with the ball. Patrick says maybe he called timout before he fell. Unreal. Just making excuses up as they go.

 

I've always liked Len Elmore, he's a very solid commentator.

what is up with all of the SEC disdain? yes, obviously the conference is down, but you guys have beaten that point into the ground on here.

 

re: Hopson -- UK could use him so badly next year, but i'd be really surprised if he came to UK.

I agree, he gives the proper respect to the big name teams without going overboard. Plus he can give a different prospective. One of my favorite lines he had was when Patrick was talking aout historically how great Carolina and Duke have been and how they dominate that conference. He then added no offense. Len was like oh no problem, they didn't dominate Maryland when I was there.

 

I also like Stephen Bardo and Hubert Davis. They both are knowledgeable and seem to be very excited for the game they are doing.

4 ranked teams on the road tonight. The 2 finals in show the ranked team losing. One more has Xavier down double digits. All 3 winning teams are non-tourney teams. Illinois hanging close to Michigan St. Could be a big night for upsets.

illinois gets commitment from texas juco pf/c dominique keller at halftime of the msu game. good pickup, the kid is torching the juco ranks lately.

 

We need his defense, Tisdale has not looked good defensively tonight. Big 10 isn't really a great league as far back to the basket players, but when Tisdale plays one, he's gonna get beat bad.

 

Why is MSU getting home cooking btw?
