I like Indiana, and that was admittedly the first time I've watched them play, but I was underwhelmed.

They have an odd mix. There only real post player is D.J. White. I like their young guards though. Gordon, Bassett, and Crawford are all good. Ellis can be a real match-up problem, but sometimes it seems like he struggles to fit in with that team. I wonder how much the frosh center would have helped this team. I think a lot.

Holman wouldn't have helped a lot offensively. He's just not ready there yet. However, he would be the only other big man that can finish. Dre is fine when he can get the ball 1-on-1 downlow. Mike White is fine when he can crash the boards and screen. Stemler is fine when he can play D and shoot the 3. But none can finish at the rim. Mike is too short. Dre is too fat. Stemler is too white. I almost hate to see one of the 3 get an offensive board.

Thomas blowing those 2 wide open layups when UConn was making their 1st half run, could have made a difference today.

LOL @ the Big Ten. A middle of the road Big East team beats the "best" big ten team...on the road...with two of their best players suspended.

Big Ten better hope for some good draws in the NCAA because they will be lucky to get 1 team to the 2nd weekend at this pace.

I am thinking for defensive purposes only. You guys are always at a disadvantage because of playing 4 guards. When Deandre and the other White are in they just kill you on the offensive end. At least Holman would dunk and can guard.

FWIW, the players out for UConn were just role players. Granted Dyson was their 2nd leading scorer, but he's not nearly as important to that team as Thabeet, Adrien, Price, and possibly Robinson.

That being said, yeah, really no excuse to lose at home today if you are IU.

How sad is the Pac 10? Their second place team, Arizona St., lost by 25 to terrible Illinois at a neutral site. God the Pac 10 better hope for some favorable draws. Oh wait, basing a whole conference's value on one game is foolish.

It sucks that our 2 most lackluster games this season have come against the only 2 tourney teams they have played.

That's why they were lackluster.

I will state now, though, we will beat Wisconsin. And that's gonna be with UW coming off a loss today at Purdue.

I don't think either of those things are happening.

Since Wisky has only lost two home games under Bo Ryan in conference play, and they both were to us, I don't see it happening either.

Yeah, he'd definitely help there. But he probably wouldn't see the floor with White, making him less of a factor. And we really don't play 4 guards much. Did for maybe 5 minutes today and 5 vs. U of I, but other than that, one of the "bigs" is usually in there with DJ.

Why is WVU favored by 3 over G'Town?

Home court in college basketball is worth more to the oddsmakers than possibly any other sport. And WVU is 4-2 in the Big East, so they're no slouch.

No, WVU is solid. G'Town has just really impressed me the couple times I've caught them. I was thinking Pk 'em.

It's early, so this may change but as of now the Big East might get 9 teams into the dance. Right now I'd say they have at least 7 for-sures if tomorrow were Selection Sunday.

Georgetown

Pitt

WVU

Notre Dame

Louisville

UConn

Marquette

You may be right. They can't afford any more losses like the one to Rutgers, though.

Lol, yeah those hurt a little. I also like The Cuse to get in from that conference too, although losing Devendorf hurts.

I still like MSU, but I think it is closer than I first thought. Wisconsin always plays so well. Bo Ryan could win with my Y league team.

The Big 10 and SEC being awful is gonna help.

Not sure who to root for. I generally root for Indiana, but for seeding purposes, I'd like to see all the Big 10 powers (IU, MSU, UW) lose one more time just in case KU stumbles.

Pomeroy hates Villanova. It's not just the Rutgers loss, all 4 of their losses are to non-tourney teams(Cincy, DePaul, and NC St. being the others) Looking it over the only difference between them and Cincy is that Villanova had an easy non-conference where they could pile up wins.

I don't see you losing more than 1. If any.

I like Wisconsin a lot and the Big 10 is terrible this year, but they're not gonna run the table. They've got 7 Big 10 road games left. If I had to guess, I'd say they lose 2 of em.

This is about right. IU only has one decent big man. If they had another to pair with D.J. White then they'd truly be one of the best teams in the nation; instead they're solidly in the second group of teams, in my estimation. I'm not sure I agree that Holman would help much at this point, he's very raw and struggled to even catch the ball when he played.

While IU didn't play well today, I think that has a lot to do with UConn. Their sized bothered IU and they played very well. I'm disappointed but not at all stunned.

IU has now lost to the best two teams they've played. That will change -- they still have two left against both Michigan State and Wisconsin. UConn was a difficult matchup for IU, but I think they match up very well with Wisconsin. It wouldn't surprise me if IU came back and won in Madison Thursday. Regardless, IU will enter the NCAA Tournament without a single non-conference victory of note.

Indiana matches up very well with Wisconsin. I think IU stands an excellent chance of winning that game. I also still think IU will win the Big Ten.
