It's surprising to see the top teams struggling at home like this. UNC, UCLA and Tennessee are all at home today.

Tim Floyd teams aren't fun to play.

At least they're classy.

Ill happily eat crow after Hansbrough misses a last second three, for the Maryland win.

EDIT: VERY worried about tonight's game with Clemson, more so than I would be about playing Carolina, Clemson's three big men are all very good, but guards arent too great, whereas Duke's big guys are pretty bad, and the guards are all pretty good.

Tennessee wins on fumes. Ohio St. played very well.

I like this game, and think it prepares us well for the tourney. Not because OSU is that good, but because we played them after a Thursday night game against a tough Vandy squad. Our OOC schedule is very good, but the fact that we've played two tough opponents in a two day turnaround bodes well for the tourney.

Now, let's just hope we still have something in the tank for Tuesday's game at Kentucky. The #3 Vols have plenty to play for.

the Big 10 is horrible this year. horrible. 4 teams in the dance woudl be a gift

Nah they deserve 4. Ohio St. is a tourney team. The thing is the SEC is horrible this year too, there's gonna be some Big 6 school getting in that just confuses the hell out of everyone as to why they're there.

I shouldn't have said we'd "kill" UNC, because I don't think it would be a blowout. But I think we'd own them defensively and physically.

I think Beasley is the best player in college hoops, but I don't think KSU will make the tourney. Not sure who I'd pick after that.

Does the way we look vs aTm change your mind about this statement any?

K State looking VERY impressive.

EDIT: Haha, I came to post that without seeing your post. Yeah, you guys are putting aTm in a clownsuit. With Hoskins you'd be a top 15 team.

The shots of the girls in the Carolina crowd crying were priceless.

It's ok, girls, you'll go back to clobbering everybody and having everyone in the nation slurp Tyler Hansbrough soon.

Ball State wins a thriller over Eastern Michigan 64-60 despite only 19 combined points from its two stars, Peyton Stovall and Anthony Newell. 20 by Malik Perry carries BSU to a win they needed to have. 2-2 in the MAC.

They actually havent killed anybody all season, except for the really really bad teams, and State. All the other games (BYU, Clemson, Davidson, and Georgia Tech) were close games that easily could have gone either way.

P.S. Hansbrough is not that good. He should not even be on ACC first-team IMO.

I'm with you. I've never thought that much of Hansbrough. He's a really tough player and everything but ND's Luke Harangody is pretty much the exact same player (hard-nosed undersized power forward who gets close to a double-double a game) but gets much less hoopla because UNC is No. 1, and because they are UNC.

ETA: Upon further review Hansbrough actually does get a double-double a game (21.6 and 10, vs Luke's 19.3 and 9.6)

Hansbrough is averaging 21.6 points and 10.0 rebounds a game, while shooting 56 percent from the field (good for 1.8 points per shot). The past two years he's gone 18.9/7.8/57%/1.68 and 18.4/7.9/53%/1.61. You are either incredibly biased or blind. Now, if you meant to say he's not a great NBA prospect, I agree with you.

Edit (this refers to earlier posts): Also, K-State blew out Texas A&M. So? Texas A&M has beat one good team (Ohio State), have a schedule ranked below Indiana's putrid schedule and have been blown out back-to-back games on the road. A&M has talent, but they haven't done much at all yet.

I know nobody is going to believe me since I am a Duke fan, but Hansbrough gets an insane amount of calls, against Georgia tech he attempted more free throws than the rest of Carolina and GT (I am sure there are more games like this). He just uses his body and goes right into the defender then kinda flops around and gets a foul call. I realize that this is going to start a firestorm of criticism that I am not the one that should be talking but its true.

I love Harangody. I'm still apoplectic that Mike Davis wouldn't even attempt to recruit the kid -- especially considering his father played football at IU and his brother was playing football at IU. However, he's not as good as Hansbrough at this point. Harangody put up 11.2 points and 6.2 rebounds last year, while Hansbrough was at basically 19 and 8 the day he stepped on the court. Also, Harangody's 1.24 and 1.35 points per shot don't compare. Harangody's very good, but Hansbrough he's not.

He's also averaged 10 free throws a game, which is an insane amount. Even, if you take away half of them back to about average, hes down to about 15 or 16 points a game. He padded his averages a ton against the terrible teams without a big guy. The only two teams Carolina has played with at least one quality big guy, Clemson and N.C. State, hes averaging 12.5 points and 13.5 rebounds and 37 minutes. Im not going to argue that hes a bad player, but hes not all he advertised to be.

The Hawks win at Michigan 68-60. We were up 54-42 before they hit 5 of 7 threes including a 3 point play to get it down to 3. Freeman had 28 points on 8-14 (6-11 from 3) and 6-9 from the line. Cyrus Tate had 21 points, 12 boards and freshman Jeff Peterson had 9 assists with only 1 turnover. The offense was very crisp after they adjusted to the 1-3-1 zone.

Seeing a lot of improvement which is all I hoped for this year.
