To add to Mizzou's list of thugs:

Stefhon Hannah was held out of action and Coach Anderson was REALLY pissed after the game. Rumor has it that he's been skipping class/showing up late for meetings and practice. Who knows if it's true, we'll see if he plays today in the exhibition against UMSL.

Michigan State.....HAHAHAHAAHHAHHHAAHAHHA Grand Valley State? Are you kidding me?

Big 10 teams should avoid D2 teams.

Why? What other Big 10 team has lost to a D2 team?

Both North Dakota State and Appalachian State are Division I teams.

wonder if penn state will lose to shippensburg again this year

last year was so funny. Ed DeChellis comes out in the pre-season and says "I think our weak non-con is going to hurt our RPI down the road." Yeah, so is LOSING to your weak non-con opponents.

Why be accurate when you can be dramatic?

Wichita State Shockers:

After having Mark Turgeon leave for Texas A&M in the offseason Wichita State hired former Winthrop coach Greg Marshall. They return 3 seniors who all played big minutes, including P.J. Couisnard, who is without a doubt the best player on the team. Also, senior PG Matt Braeuer, a quick and smart minded basketball player that is able to get the offense going. Marshall also brought in a group of very talented Juco players, including Ramon Clemente and Mantas Griskenas. Wichita State is also looking to receive a boost to their frontcourt in December, as their 7' ft. C Ehimen Orukpe will be hopefully arriving from Nigeria in this time. They also return Gal Mekel, an extremely talented guard from Tel Aviv, Israel, who will be stepping into a much bigger role this season as the Shockers need all the production from the guard spots that they can get. This is a very talented team, with many players who, before their opener last night, had yet to play a minute of D-1 basketball. They will do nothing but improve as the year go on and they continue to gel, and progress as a unit. I look for them to be a surprise later in the season, and do better than their predicted 6th place finish in the MVC.

IU looked like an offensive juggernaut today. Scored 121, shot 60% from the field. The Fab 4 Freshmen scored 71 of those points and shot an amazing 25-38 from the field. The JUCO transfers combined for 9 steals! And DJ was amazing. 13 points, 11 rebs, 6 assists (0 TOs), 3 blocks. IU could be 10-deep this season.

Ahh, can't be UCLA bball without the injuries. Mike Roll out a month with a foot injury suffered in practice over the weekend. Darren Collison might miss a week or more with a sprained knee.

mind telling us what crap school they played?

North Alabama.

(I only know this because of the incessant BTN ads they showed in the press box yesterday during Ball State v. IU.)

Ball State handled DIII Anderson in an exhibition today. Butler, on Friday, should pose something of a bigger test.

SIU played their first exhibition game yesterday and defeated "King" 74-38. Defensive intensity was strong as always and I was real impressed with Josh Bone and Wesley Clemmons. Going to need them to step up big this year.

So a DII school, thats kind of what I figured. Color me unimpressed that IU was only up 14 midway thru the 2nd half.

Color me unsurprised that you picked out a single moment in a 40-pt win to be unimpressed with. FWIW, during the 14-2 run or so that UNA was on to cut the lead to 14, IU had a team on the floor of 4 newcomers (3 frosh) and a sophomore.

I would have taken a 40 point win myself but we eeked out a niner. I love Green and I think Onuaka will be a monster underneath. If Flynn can hit his J's we will do fine.
