the local paper certainly built up the Wisconsin game as being winnable for Penn State. Lots of injuries on the Badgers. I'm still not getting my hopes up

I don't understand how that game would be perceived to not be a winnable game for the Nit Lions?

because Penn State sucks?

Trust me I know sucks and Penn State does not suck.

I've got some buddies of mine who I met when I lived in Houston that went to Auburn (some graduated from there, some didn't). Anyway, after I moved back to BR, they decided to make the AU/LSU game an annual trip, be it in BR or Auburn. Well just before or just after this season started, I got a call from the main guy asking if they could stay with me or if they needed to make reservations. Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago (actually the week before they beat Florida) and the guy calls me back and says nevermind, they decided not to come down. He didn't give me a real good reason, so I ask a few questions and he tries to play them off before finally saying something along the lines of "well, you want the truth? We decided we didn't want to waste our time and money driving down there to watch us get our asses kicked". So I called him back after they beat Florida thinking okay maybe that changed their minds and they still don't want any part of coming to Tiger Stadium. Of course I had to call them out for being a bunch of candyasses, but it gave me quite a bit of joy knowing their feelings.

Honestly, I wouldn't sink a boat-load of money into an Auburn-LSU game "vacation" this year either...not after watching Auburn get beaten by Mississippi State. It could very well be a close game, but I just don't know if Auburn has truly turned the corner or not.

Oh, I don't necessarily disagree them either. My point was more to the humorous fact that he and the others didn't want to come clean initially on why they were backing out.

I suspect the PSU-Wisconsin matchup will be well fought. There is no reason why PSU cannot win this game. Wisconsin's offense has been pretty solid of late, but now they'll be without both their starting WR's - Hubbard and Swan. They could struggle a bit with the passing game as PSU can primarily focus on Beckum.

Defensively, Wisconsin has been porous against the run. They're young and inexperienced at key positions this year, and its showing big time. The game should be tight if PSU can effectively run and control the ball.

I love this week. For some reason my delusional brethren are spending more time debating whether to rush the field after ND beats BC (with most people saying that BC doesn't matter enough to rush the field for) than whether they actually will beat them, and here we sit at 13.5-point underdogs.

If Wisconsin loses 2 Big Ten games in a row, there's going to be much weeping and gnashing of teeth here. People around here were fully expecting a Big 10 championship, especially after watching Michigan stumble early in the year.

Prediction for OU game?

Pessimistic, don't let yourself get excited version: Allen Patrick or whoever runs the ball for OU, it doesn't matter, makes our defense wish they were never born. Loadholt keeps Sulak from getting to the QB/ballcarrier by eating him like a gingerbread man. Daniel fumbles once and throws a pick. OU wins 35-21

Optimistic, just watched us humiliate Nebraska version: Gameday and OU is enough to get the defense motivated to stop the run again, or at least enough to put the offense back on the field. The offense is a frakking machine that's the reason we've been up 25+ points in the 3rd quarter of every game. Bradford proves my theory that first year QBs never go all the way. Mizzou wins 42-20

Middle ground: I'd be out of my mind to predict a road win against OU. They've got too much talent all the way around, and the best shot is that Mizzou's offense scores enough points to force OU to make some mistakes that might swing the game in our favor. OU wins 38-31 after a late Mizzou TD makes it look closer than it was.

I'll be rooting for Mizzou. If they could pull it off it would just make the Illini look that much better. Of course I'm living in Illini dreamland, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Man I hope Mizzou pulls this off. Campus would just go insane. I got some friends who are going out there, actually a bunch of people, just because Gameday is gonna be there. Good to see Mizzou traveling well this year. That's been a problem for us in the past. GO TIGERS!

I honestly think LSU may be the only team out there without a major flaw. USC doesn't have an apparent one, but something made them lose to Stanford ( I can't say that enough, Stanford beat USC  ). LSU struggled against Florida, but watching the game I didn't see any major flaw in their game.

That something was John David Booty and his 4 interceptions against the vaunted Stanford D.

Excellent point Raisin. Booty looked truly awful Saturday.

I really think he's playing himself out of definitely a high draft pick, if not a first rounder altogether.

Booty played majority of Stanford game with broken finger

Cut the guy some slack.

I didn't know that, thanks.

I wonder how much more a broken middle finger affects a QB than a broken pinky? I know both are substantial, but Erik Ainge hasn't looked even remotely close to that bad and he's had a broken pinky all season.

A broken middle finger is definitely a good explanation as to why he was so awful against Stanford.

Apparently all 4 picks came after the broken finger....and it is Stanford...so I think it played a big role.

There is no reason why PSU cannot win this game.

the local paper certainly built up the Wisconsin game as being winnable for Penn State. Lots of injuries on the Badgers. I'm still not getting my hopes up

I don't understand how that game would be perceived to not be a winnable game for the Nit Lions?

Anthony Morelli.
