When I started going out with my girlfriend in January, I showed her Fever Pitch (mind you I left the room and did other things while she was watching it) and at the end explained to her that I am the Cubs fan version of this and that if she dates me she has to realize that I am going to be like this for most of the Spring-Fall. There have been a few testy moments where I can tell that she is thinking "What did I get myself into"..but overall its gone over well.

 

I vetoed a potential October wedding day because I didn't want to have to worry about anniversary plans if the Cubs were in the playoffs. I wouldn't have done this but after she told me no on March "because it's between Valentine's Day and my birthday (which is in April)", I didn't feel too bad about it.

I had a dream last night about watching the game. It was 2-1 Cubs in the 6th when, for some reason, I decided to start watching Forest Gump on USA Network. So I am watching for awhile when I realize that I forgot about the Cubs game! So I flip back over, and to my shock it is 33-27 Diamondbacks in the 8th, but the Cubs had the bases loaded and 0 outs. Gosh I hope my dream doesn't come true.

Bullpen match-ups have been posted on the First Page. I did all the match-ups for the Cubs bullpen... I got tired of waiting for the 25-man for the D'Backs so I just did everyone.

 

I think Juan Cruz is going to be in the pen for the D'backs, and I don't see him among the match-ups.

I like the Cubs chances tonight. Webb is kind of a poor man's Greg Maddux, which plays right into the Cubs agressive approach at the plate. If he's on it won't matter, but if he misses in the early innings the Cubs will hit him.

As simplistic as it sounds the key may be throwing strikes, if Zambrano and the rest of the Cubs staff consistently throw strikes they'll win the series. Without a few BB's to help them out I don't believe the Diamondbacks are capable pounding their way to runs.
