So...

Soriano

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

DeRosa

Jones

Geovany Soto

Yep. I'd probably have

Soriano

Derosa

Lee

Ramirez

Floyd

Soto

Jones

Theriot

Z

But I'm pretty happy with Lou's lineup.

Not going to argue, but I'd probably put Jones at #2 since he's been hitting pretty well and breaks up the righties a bit.

If Kendall has to start against the DBacks, I'd prefer him starting against Webb. Soto would eat up Davis and Hernandez and I can easily see Kendall having better success against a sinkerballer like Webb.

After September 1st, Soto started against every left-hander the Cubs faced in the month (8 times in a row). It seems very likely that Soto will start game 2 as well. I don't know why Lou would change to Kendall now when he obviously likes Soto against left-handers.

With that said, I do agree with you that if Kendall is going to start, you start him in game 1. His ability to make contact helps with Webb (and Soto's power advantage will be somewhat negated by Webb's sinker), and Z is the one pitcher that can hold runners which means Soto's arm isn't needed as much in game 1. So if they are going to start Soto in this game (which they announced they were), they need to start him the rest of the series.

That is a lineup that really shouldn't scare anyone.

Yeah Z better cruise.

I have confidence that he will.

Stephen Drew is really the only lefty that Z might have trouble with. The other lefties in the lineup don't scare me all that much. Z should definitely do well against this lineup if he pitches like he's capable of.

Except for his start on 3 days rest, he's been very good the past several starts, and his 3 days rest game wasn't that bad. I like our chances of seeing "good Zambrano" tomorrow.

I want to watch This Old Cub tonight, but my stupid roommates are watching Blades of Glory.

Kick them out.

There's 3 of them and they're bigger than me....But I told them when the playoffs start I'm not missing a game. If they want to watch something I will fight them to the death. They may be bigger but I'll have a lot more to fight for.

Someone needs to make it their mission to find a high-res version of that!
