ok, ok, i appreciate the whole "relax" mentality, i really do...

 

but, are you seriously going to be able to "relax" if they lose today and the brewers win tonight because that means that the cubs only have a 1 game lead with 3 left to play...plus they are playing like dog drip right now

 

 

I would obviously not be as comfortable as I am now, but I wouldn't be even close to thinking it's over or that the Cubs were gonna blow it.

 

The Reds we're facing are without Dunn and Griffey, and Harang might even miss his start. The Brewers are facing a Padres team (admittedly also battling some injuries) fighting for their playoff lives. If the Cubs couldn't manage to, at least, win the same amount of games as Milwaukee in that scenario, they wouldn't deserve it anyway.

At this point in the season, there is no soap-droppin' reason why the Cubs should be swept by the Marlins. If we can't beat the friggin' Marlins in the last week of the season, what makes us think we will be able to win on the West Coast in a much more pressure playoff series?
