Cubs go weakly.

Still think we're going to win this game?

Look, nobody said we're totally gonna win this game, Cubs are awesomest, gonna win the next 8 world serieses. They were just pointing out that you and others were being spazzes saying the season was over because of this game, and that there's no way we could possibly come back from an insurmountable 4 run deficit with only 7 innings to go!!

Considering your track record on calling games over, smart money probably is still on the Cubs winning the game. But that's cool, you can crow about us drinking cubbie kool aid and how you knew this game was over and the team doesn't care/is complacent/went out partying/is too young/inexperienced/whatever cliche you want to use to say they won't win because of the uniform they're wearing. And hopefully there'll be a few game threads the rest of the year where people like me aren't here to call you out on your crap.

Thanks for posting this so I didn't have to.

Who the heck cares, I am being wildly irrational right now, but I know that 20 minutes after the game is over, I will start to think normally again. Game threads are a forum for irrational thought. If you don't like irrational thoughts and want to discuss the game, that's fine just gloss over the bad posts.

It's tough to when the whole thread is unreadable because of the Chicken Littles.

HAHAHAHAH stop going opposite field!!!!!!!!!!1

Yep, it would be much cooler if he tried to pull that ball and ended up rolling it over and grounding out to SS.

It's frustrating to see Dontrelle punk us considering how horrible he's been.

Maybe someone will wake up in that locker room after the game, quit watching the Brewers score, and play some damn baseball.

I sure as hell hope this wakes them up.

We've lined out to Hermida about 18 times tonight.

And that's why this loss (assuming we do lose) won't bother me that much.

It's not that Dontrelle is fooling us out there, we're putting the bat on the ball, but everything is right at somebody.

Plus, the marlins runs were mostly due to a couple of lazy bloop hits that barely fell in.

Oh, plus If anyone honestly thought we were going to win every game for the rest of the season, they were delusional.

Jeez... the sky is falling stuff is insane in here.

Even if the UNTHINKABLE happens and both these games go Milwaukee's way, the Cubs will have a 2 game lead with 5 to play.

Um, yea.. I'll take that.

Don't you know your history, mon??

Yeah, we know all about '04. Did you forget '03? The Cubs were tied with Houston with six games left (and tied again with three games left).

I think some people falsely believe there's some barrier to the Cubs getting into the playoffs. There isn't. We've actually been in the playoffs more than some other clubs in recent history.

I have no problem with irrational thought in game threads. It's when the irrational thought becomes obnoxious and disparaging to people who don't buy into their irrational thought that I'm going to respond and call people out.

The sad thing is, it hasn't even been that bad in here today. There's been game threads that I couldn't even stay in because you had 14 people racing to call out DPs every time somebody got on 1st base, and then when on their 6th prediction everyone raced to get out their LOLs. I just don't understand the entertainment value.

Bah Cubs know they got it wrapped up so they are just taking a day off....like Game 5 of the 2003 NLCS.

Oh did I say that?

Just a little dark humor. I'm not worried. Yet.

The Marlins announcers are awful. This is the first time I've ever muted a baseball game. Ever.

I certainly hope they wake up from this awful funk they've been in this month.

Maybe the Cubs are waiting until there are 5 outs remaining in the game to break out offensively?
Crazy talk. Nobody does that.

(Though DLee WOULD be accustomed to it :x)

Seriously.

They should be contracted for the record they have this month.

I know!!!

I'm sick of the lack of power this team has displayed.

It amazes me how much so many people that have nothing to do with them revel in the Cubs failure. It's like picking on the mentally handicapped 6 year old down the block. Maybe its the JV jock mentality of most people having anything to do with sports, but it's just baffling to me.
