Why do people have such a hard time accepting losses? Plenty of them come in an 162 game schedule, for both great and terrible teams.

because they are playing beyond terrible. 3 baserunners, impatient hitting against a pitcher with a 1.60+ WHIP this season.

Teams usually play pretty terribly in a good amount of the games they lose. It's the nature of baseball.

There is no excuse for some of the things they have done tonight. Leadoff walk followed by Soto swinging at the second pitch almost at his shoes and grounding into a DP is one example.

Cubs do that a lot in games that they win too. It's poor approach, but it's hardly a sure sign they're going to lose. It's what they've been doing the past 10 years.

I don't think the hand-wringing and teeth-gnashing is going to do anything.

Except maybe give us ulcers at an early age.

Maybe we aren't a playoff team, I don't know. I do know if the Cubs can't find a way to win a few games against the Marlins and Reds they certainly don't deserve to face the NL's best in the playoffs.

If the Crew can catch us, hats off to them they deserve and we gave it away.

Cubs go weakly.

Still think we're going to win this game?

Whoever thinks we're winning this game is living in Dreamland.

Apparently Lou doesnt . here comes Wuertz.

Good call.

It's frustrating to see Dontrelle punk us considering how horrible he's been.

Maybe someone will wake up in that locker room after the game, quit watching the Brewers score, and play some damn baseball.

Second baserunner of the game that doesn't get doubled off!! It normally doesn't qualify, but compared to the rest of the game, this has got to fall into the fake rally category.

Of course the inning would be over before I could finish typing the sentence. F you, Cobs.

Jeez... the sky is falling stuff is insane in here.

Even if the UNTHINKABLE happens and both these games go Milwaukee's way, the Cubs will have a 2 game lead with 5 to play.

Um, yea.. I'll take that.

Don't you know your history, mon??

Yeah, we know all about '04. Did you forget '03? The Cubs were tied with Houston with six games left (and tied again with three games left).
