From a Cards Fan - Good luck guys

I've said it before and I'll say it again - when the Cards are out of it, I am rooting for the Cubs. No I won't be wearing any Cub gear or bandwagon jumping, just pulling for your team. The Cubs and their fans deserve it.

 

I actually meant to post this about 2 weeks ago after the Cards got swept in Arizona - they were pretty much done then.

 

Anyway - I'm sure you guys don't want or need the help, but I'm rooting for you guys to take the division and win everything you can in October.

 

Good luck guys. I'm pulling for you. If the Cubs win it, I'm coming to Chicago to party.

will try. those guys came in last year and showed no mercy during the last series of the year, taking 2 of the 4 games.

 

As other posters have mentioned, the Cards may not have a great team, but they do battle. I can't see Milwaukee sweeping. They aren't as good as the Cubs.

I can say for sure that I wouldn't have because I've rooted against them 3 years in a row!

I love to hate the Cardinals, its a different kind of hate. I respect them.

 

I place the Brewers with the White Sox. I give them no respect, and want to obliterate them at every opportunity. Usually there are specific players I extremely dislike (Carlos Lee when he was a Sox, Corey Hart, Ryan Braun). It's personal. They also have a 2nd city atmosphere going on in Milwaukee similar to the White Sox. Next year they'll develop the mindset where us losing matters more than them losing. Sick minds, I tell you.

well, at least us losing actually matters to the brewers - in terms of playoff implications. When we lose to any team other than the White Sox, it does nothing for the white sox.

Props to the Cards fans for giving Biggio a big standing ovation. I was at the Bears game and missed the Cards/Astros on ESPN, but apparently they applauded him all weekend and gave a close to 30 second standing O when he came to bat in the 8th.

I prefer to save my vitriol for the actual St. Louis Cardinals rather than the fans. They have obnoxious idiots just like every other team, but in my experience they tend to have classy contingent.

 

I'll especially never forget the little old lady I sat next to a few years ago in St. Louis it a Cubs/Cards game. Probably the first time I didn't yell obscenities at a baseball game in 10 years. She was awesome, though she did keep going on and on about how JD Drew wasn't playing because of a hangnail or a splinter. She couldn't get enough of that. I, however, did after like the 8th time. But she never said anything disparaging about my Cubs jersey. We had a gay old time.

I can't say I'll be rooting for the Cubs (like that matters), but I can guarantee I won't take any cheap shots or make any sour grape remarks regardless of how they do. That's something, isn't it?
