Thank you for being an idiot, Ned. I love you.

For those who didn't witness it, the latest example of Ned's genius was trotting out a series of lousy relievers against the Astros in extra innings while Cordero festered in the bullpen, almost certainly causing the Brewers the game.

Ned may be the Cubs biggest ally down the stretch.

he also double-switched out his second best hitter earlier in the game.

it's not like he's cliff floyd out there where his bat isn't a huge huge asset, braun's a soap dropping monster with the bat.

You don't take your best hitter out of the game. Yost is a fool.

another game like today and we will need to sticky this thread.

I'm disappointed in myself and the board as a whole for not having this thread stickied and 40 pages long already. Hopefully yost gives us reason to keep it up here.

Imagine the Ned Yost Dumb Decisions thread at BrewerFan.net.

Brewerfan.net is just gold right now. I recommend a visit. They've even turned it into a verb.

ie, we just got flippin yosted man!

WHERE THE HELL IS CORDERO

Why are the Cubs worried about who's pitching for Houston against us when we have Ned Yost running the ship?

Yost could easily be the worst manager in baseball. I'm sad to say with even an average manager we would probably have a 2 or 3 game lead right now. This isn't a new thing he has made poor choices the entire season.

Well, every team has it's "what ifs", but Yost has been horrible.

You could almost understand if he was making these moves in April, but what he did in a game as crucial as tonight's was simply mind-boggling.

You have Berkman, Lee and Pence coming up in a tie game on the road in extra innings and you bring in a reliever who is average overall and who has been terrible lately so you can "save" your closer? It is really just preposterously stupid.

In just the past month he has done this move, he has used Mench with the game on the line vs a righty. He has used Jenkins with the game on the line vs a lefty. He has used a september callup with the game on the line. He has let Linebrink face JJ when Shouse was up in the bullpen with the game on the line. He has left Turnbow in twice now when he couldn't throw strikes to lose games.

Its almost like he is actively trying to lose games with some of these decisions.

That was some amazing decision-making. Wow. But let's be fair -- Lou makes some crappy decisions, too. Like Jones bunting last night? Gar!

Are you kidding? That was a brilliant decision. Lou had Jacque bunt to keep him from grounding into a double play.

Genius!

Genius!

A fair point, given that the Cubs had hit into several double plays already -- including one from Jacque!
