Quite honestly, I don't want the Cubs to make the playoffs. Just go on a nice 10-game losing streak and end this crap already, because they've proven they obviously don't want the division badly enough.

I'm not sure why Kendall is included in there. He went 1-2 with a walk, that hit was a double scoring the first run, and he got 2 sacrifices down. He did let a run in on defense, but overall he was a net positive on the game, which there weren't enough of tonight to single him out.

 

The people who really didn't come through tonight include Soriano, Theriot, Ramirez, and Lou.

Theriot has been atrocious lately, and I hate the fact that I have to see Soriano suck for the next 7 years. Aram gets a pass because he's been pretty good lately.

The problem with this argument is that baseball is fun to watch. It's fun to root for your team. Why on earth you wouldn't want the chance to get to root for your team in playoff games is beyond me. At this point it doesn't matter what the payroll is, after 140+ games you know what this team is. Maybe they will get lucky and run off a 10 game winning streak, or maybe they will get unlucky and run off a 10 game losing streak. But most likely they will be 10-8 the rest of the way and hope that Milwaukee fades.
