Both the Cards and Brewers start their games an hour before the Cubs do...so by the time our game begins, we should have a pretty good idea about what we need to do.

You mean win? I could have told you that a while ago...

Yes...yes....yes... I know I pointed out the obvious... Guess I just meant we'll have an idea where we stand before the first pitch is even thrown in our game...

Holy cow does Berkman own Marquis. And in no small number of PAs, too. That's ridiculous.

Marquis I don't think ever does well against Houston. This is not a ideal match up for us tonight. Hopefully the offense will score early and often.

C'mon Cubbies, give me an excuse to play one of Jimmy Buffett's good friends later on tonight loud enough to wake up this preggo girl that lives with me and have her actually not be mad.

I couldn't agree more... didn't they hit Aramis multiple times last series?

Wasn't Berkman the one a couple of years ago that faked getting hit in the head against the cubs? He layed there for a couple of minutes in pain even thoug replays clearly showed the ball hit his bat and not head?

yep, I was going to suggest we find away to hit him and then convince the umps that he didn't really get hit... but then I figure the next pitch he'd crank a home run.

Yes.

Followed immediately by Houston winning something like 75 out of 77 to end the year and win the wild card from the Cubs.

Off to coach little league soccer. I hope to come back to some good first inning news--coaching 7 yr old girls is frustrating enough without a Cubs loss to throw on top.

Is there a reason for the new Ramirez #5 hitter or is he just sticking with what worked yesterday?

Theriot REALLY needs to sit.

I know Cedeno isn't a good bet to do anything more than 0-4. But even if you're just trying to clear Theriot's head, it's going to be worth it. He's been brutal for a while now.

It's too bad DeRosa couldn't play SS one game and put Fontinant (sp) at 2nd.

Hes just been figured out. He likes to hit the ball to the right for the most part, and thats how their defending him. He could use a day off or 2, or at least a trip down the lineup to 6th or 7th for a few games. Especially in Houston where Cubs offense is tough to come by.

For the love of God quit starting Floyd.

The goal is to have him hit some hard foul balls at the good Astro players when their in the dugout.

Yea there really is no reasoning behind him starting, except for Lous "experience" infatuation. Murton(I know here comes the Murton Fan Club crap) goes 2-4 against a righty(Morris) on Sunday and then doesnt get to play again for the next 2 days so far.

I could have sworn it was made crystal clear when Floyd was signed that he was going to be nothing more than some pop off the bench and a spot starter. I guess one thing led to another, Murton wound up in Lous dog house, and thats not an easy spot to get out of.

Floyd's got karma working for him.

Same can be said for Trachsel.
