I want to scream profanities after today's game...but Tim says we can't so I'll go with ugh.

I'm looking for a bright note....first is that the Brewers play 13 of their next 16 on the road where they suck...second...while cards are winning against an awful pirates team, their starter de jure got knocked out in the 2nd....and they've got a LOT of games left in a row...third...Soriano seems to be heating up...4th..Marquis pitched very well....

anything I'm missing?

A reason as to why this couldn't go in the game thread.

no one reads the gamethread after the game ends.

All the more reason for this to go there.

I don't want to read it just like I won't watch the highlights since I missed the game. It probably should be moved to the Rant page :x

There are a lot of positives to be taken out of today's game, and they've been mentioned already...

Basically we're all square heading into the last 24 games....Our schedule is the most favorable...our starting pitching has been very good (with the exception of Z), our bullpen has been solid with today being an exception, and key cogs of our offense are heating up....remember too...with just 7 home games left, and the rest on the road...this may bode well for the Cubs, esp. Soriano who has been DEADLY on the road!

Very tough loss today, but all is not lost.

The loss sucks, but it's hardly surprising the Cubs got their butts handed to them from another contender outside the NL central. Thankfully, they don't face anymore the rest of the year. They are still in position to back into the playoffs, and while it ain't sexy, it's all we've got for now. And I'm still feeling good about their chances.

That's about how I feel...I like Fonzie heating up...that could mean a lot...and while the offense sucked today...it was without Ramirez...

(Btw...that's a pretty positive statment for you Goony.... :D )

Provided that the Cubs avoid a meltdown in St. Louis and win most of the games they should against HOU/CIN/PIT/FLA, they probably still win the division.

Milwaukee's last ten days are about as tough as they get (all teams competing for a WC or division spot). St. Louis' remaining schedule is also much tougher than the Cubs'.

I've been pretty positive about their chances for a couple months now. I'm still very down on Hendry and his methods, but I'll take a playoff run if I can get it.

No need to be criticizing posters for where they start a thread. If the mods think a thread is better suited for another forum we'll move it.

Thank you. I always wondered why people do that. Is it painful to look at a thread that MIGHT be in the wrong place?

I fear that the Padres will clinch their playoff spot early and sit Peavy and/or Young and others in the last 2 games against the Brewers.

Its so disheartening to see an inspiring come from behind win turn into a loss.

I wonder if this is the sort of loss that derails a team permanently. We'll find out if these guys can move on or if they are going wollow in it and allow them to effect their confidence.

This does nothing except make things very interesting.

painfully interesting. it's like watching a car stopped on railroad tracks with a train bearing down on it. are they going to make it?????

The Brewers have shown they are very capable of beating good teams at home, I'm more worried about the road games.

Milwaukee's very last series is with the Padres, possible playoff implications for both teams. That might be a fun one to watch.

Id say the biggest positive to come from yesterdays game, is it looks like we might be getting ready for a Soriano hot streak. We all know waht happened last time he went on a streak.

Yeah! Judgmental posts about where a prior post should go...those are awsome guys. Thanks.

Judgemental post about another's post? isn't that what your above post is?

On a relevant note, I continue to be an optimist. We're tied in first in September.
