after a rough start, Marquis wasn't so bad. Hopefully Marmol keeps it at 5.

this is like the "marquis isn't so bad for a fifth starter argument."

he has a remarkable ability to pitch so poorly that people's expectations go down and anything better than complete disaster is fine.

he sucks.

i think he meant it could have been worse.

which fits exactly with what i was saying.

so what you expected him to give up 8 or 9 runs today.... what are looking for. he gave up 5 runs in the first 2 innings then went scoreless in 3 1/3, which means it could have been worse...

It's impossible to please abuck.

it's impossible to please me by allowing 5 runs in 5 1/3 innings, yes. i'm also not pleased with a $100 mil that hovers around .500. sorry.

fine I hear ya, but what does that have to do with the incredibly accurate comment that "it could have been worse" when it came to marquis game today?

I'm not just talking about this situation. I'm talking about the Cubs in general. I can't remember you ever saying anything good about anyone not named Rich Hill.

rich hill's about the only guy who deserves to have good things said about him lately.

We're on track to lose, and a loss is a loss. So what if it could have been worse? We would just be losing by more.

listen, i don't know what you want me to say. yes, it could have been worse. he could have given up 11 runs instead of 5 and he could have stabbed carlos marmol or killed a baby.

good job, marquis on not being worse.

If we make the playoffs, we could play the D'Backs in the first round :(

Should that happen and Marquis gets a start someone should tell him Young can't hit a breaking ball.

Dbacks will finish off the D-bags in this series. D-bags will lose first by Thursday and never regain it this season.

Cards will win NLDS, powered by the wondeful story of Ankiel and the memory of the choirboy who was wrongly attacked by a tow truck. It will be the stuff of legends, David vs Goliath. America's team, full of grit and hustle will intangible their way into the playoffs past the team with the "360 Mil Payroll".

So damn predictable, not sure why I put myself through this every year.
