Was there any reason you said this right after Jones grounded out?

I don't know why but it seems like Kerry Wood just hasn't had it since he's been back with the team

Kerrys problem as a starter was walks, and it hasnt changed as a reliever. Until he can quit walking guys he really cant be used in a tight game.

he seems to be concentrating on not walking the first couple batters, so he tosses in the low 90s, but when he is in trouble, BAM 97 MPH, and a slider that made my loins tingle.

Every pitcher on the Cubs' problem is walks. Until they can quit walking guys they really cant be used in a tight game.

Well, this game is frustrating, but at least the Cubs took the series. And the last one. Keep doing that and I can live without winning streaks and sweeps.

Monroe deal is 100% due to Murton's lack of production, IMO.

And Jacque's and Floyd's and, until recently, Ward's. Our OF's lack of power is laughable.

Of course it would be nice if we could win games that favor us on paper, like Z vs. Cain

How do you walk a .247 hitter?

The same way you walk a .080 hitter.

I didn't realize that until I just checked out the previous innings on Gameday. I'm glad I wasn't here for that at-bat.

Eh, it evens out as the Cubs won the game where the Giants looked better on paper (Lincecum vs. Marquis). And Cain has arguably been better than Z this season.

Sure, but we won the first game, which didn't favor us on paper....Marquis vs. Lincecum

Lee takes strikes and swings at garbage. I would rather not have to pay him the next few years than Z.

Good think you're not paying him then....the Cubs are.

He's still one of the best first baseman in the league.
