The UC Davis game is at noon and I'm really looking forward to the first game in the new stadium. I went on a stadium tour with the media yesterday and it looks very nice.

at noon? Yikes, they can sell water to fund the stadium.

It's going to be VERY hot on the field for the players because there's no shade and the Fieldturf is ridiculously hot. They were trying to get lights for this year but decided to skip it to focus on the necessity's to get the stadium open. They should have them in by next year.

good idea for early season games. the road's are ready - they need a light at 113 though - that could be a mess - or will no one be driving?

Woo, ranked in the top 15 to start the season! Don't muck this up by losing to a well-coached, inferior team, Dorrell.

Week 1 is going to be blowout city for Penn State (FIU will be destroyed), so that's anti-climactic.

Weekend of the 8th will be awesome: PSU vs. ND on saturday and Bears vs. Chargers on Sunday (assuming it will be aired here, which is no guarantee)

Fox does have the 4:15 game that week. The matchups are:

Bears at Chargers

Lions at Raiders

Tampa Bay at Seattle

Since none of those teams are anywhere near you, I think you have a very good shot of getting the Bears/Chargers game (that should be the nationwide game besides the Oakland, Detroit, Tampa Bay, and Seattle areas). I pity the people who get to watch Detroit at Oakland :D

With only 10 days until the first games I thought I would bump this thread. Can't wait for the season to start, should be wild here in Madtown with the Badgers having such high expectations placed on them. A 2:30 start time for the first game of the year should have everyone lubed up pretty good before game time. Any Coug fans on here with a prediction? I think Bucky rolls 35-10

i dont get all the expectations for the badgers. theyre just not that good.

They aren't that bad either. They return just about everyone from a team that went 12-1 last year, the only loss being to Michigan where special teams and an injury to one of the best cornerbacks in the country let them down. That game was close in the second half. Sure they have an easier schedule, but they beat the teams that were put in front of them.

they arent, they should be in the 15-25 range. They beat one top 25 team last season. They beat the teams they were supposed to beat, there's something for that. I just have a hard time seeing them ranked 7th in the nation after they beat just one top 25 team last season and then seeing the two big dogs in their conference getting smacked in the mouth.

Year Three of the Spurrier era is upon us. I am exciting about whupping up on ULa-La, but what I am really gearing up for is the matchup at UGA on the 8th.

Its absurd how much I love football.

I'm with you, sir. College football is far and away my favorite sport. I get so pumped this time of year I can barely stand it.

Another game of note, the Rocky Mountain Showdown at Invesco Field at Mile High:

Colorado vs. Colorado State... guess it's off the national radar but it's kind of a big deal here.

Do you pull for one of the teams? I can add it (and any succeeding game for whichever one you like) into the "other games" tab if you're a fan of one.

I can't wait for the ND game. One of my cousins went to ND and most of my family on my dad's side are ND fans. My dad is one of the few exceptions (he's a PSU fan). They were busting me about that game the other day, so I want something to brag about at the next family gettogether.

all this college football talk and no sign of CuseCubFan??

Haven't seen him around for awhile...

We should actually rename this thread to something innocuous before he catches wind of it and comes in here crying about the Big East getting disrespected.

Yeah, CU Buffs all the way. I'm really hoping we suck less this year. Thanks!

Is there an update on whether or not Big Ten Network will be on standard DirecTV? The first PSU game is slated for it.

It's on all tiers for DirecTV on channel 220 (when it debuts).

Since you got some 1AA teams in there what about UNI (Northern Iowa) vs. Minnesota State. Thursday August 30th at 7:05pm. Also isn't Clemson playing Florida State on Labor day?

After this weekend only one more weekend until CFB is here.

Go Iowa

Go UNI

and To a much smaller degree go South Carolina

There's really a Minnesota State University? Who took over for Hayden Fox?

Was Mankato State until the late 1990s. Apparently they thought that the positive association people have with the state of Minnesota was better for admissions...
