Suntimes[/url]"]General manager Jim Hendry scoffed at rumors the Cubs are trying to acquire White Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik in a waiver trade. ''I haven't talked to Kenny in a couple of weeks,'' said Hendry, referring to Sox GM Ken Williams.

DEAR GOD NO.

I bet GM's enjoyed the day when message boards and even the internet didn't exist. So many horrible rumors come out everyday that make absolutly no sense.

Jacque for Payton.

Floyd to anywhere for anything.

DFA Koyie Hill. If he clears waivers, assign him to Iowa if he's willing. Recall him in September. Possibly in late August if you must have him on the postseason roster.

If he can somehow make it through waivers, Matt Stairs.

Same with Craig Monroe.

Bring up Pie and Soto.

Murton everyday in LF.

Pie and Payton in CF.

Stairs and Monroe in RF.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. I don't understand the point. What is Podsednik going to bring to this team? We need an outfielder who can hit for some power and take some walks, not a guy who can't hit and has no power.

He would be a better option than Pagan off the bench. Seriously, Murton and Pie had a good night last night, and need to be given an opportunity to live up to their potential, before replacing either one of them with a cagey veteran.

I'm not sure about that, but I certainly hope that, if he's brought in, it's to fill that role. Probably insurance to cover a prolonged Pagan absence.

Podsednik in, Patterson out, I would assume.

Who leaves when Ward comes back? That would be an excellent opportunity to give Floyd a gold watch and thank him for his contributions, such as they have been. At a minimum, place him on the DL with a sore back from violently swinging and missing so much.
