How do you think your favorite team going to do this year?

I think my Hawkeyes are going to have a better year then last year. I think 8 wins is very achievable. We don't have OSU or UM for the next 2 years. This year this will be good but I think '08 is when the Hawks have a shot of doing something special and not playing those 2 may hurt them. Last years 6-7 team was a major disappointment but I don't see that happening again.

No team should be allowed to get through the Big Ten schedule in a year without playing at least one of OSU and UM. Those two are most consistently good teams in the Big Ten. To give any team a chance to play a full season without facing one of them is unfair.

I'm not going to argue that.

I think LSU could have a good year. The biggest challenge will be replacing Russell at QB. I think Keiland Williams will develop into a great rusher, so the biggest question mark will be Flynn at QB.

I think we have the players to replace those we lost on defense and again will be one of the better defenses in football.

This year, LSU gets Auburn and Florida at home, so that helps as well.

I got excited just to see College Football as a thread.

Michigan St will not be good. I think they will stop shooting themselves as much and just wont be good for lack of talent.

I think Notre Dame will finish 9-4 on the season. We have an extremely difficult opening stretch with a young team. I think we lose to USC and Michigan and two out of UCLA, Penn State and Boston College. We will finally win a bowl game, albeit a non-BCS game.

Our recruiting class for 2008 is looking extremely strong. We should end up ranked in the top 5 classes. The biggest key is that we have finally recruited defense well and we all know that has been our weakness under Weis.

I like USC and Texas in the national title game.

Wow-I'm not nearly as optimistic as you. I see a 7-6 season on the horizon. I wouldn't be shocked by 8-5, but 9-4 would be very surprising to me. It is a very young team that really doesn't have much to fall back on. Their offense mostly moved on, and their defense really needs to improve. I'm confident that both the offense and defense will get better, but the problem is that ND's tough games are at the front of the schedule when the team has not had time to gel yet. The future is bright, but I just don't see great hope for this year.

same old same old. Badgers will be severely underrated to begin the season, will win 9-10 games, end up second or third in the Big Ten, be severe underdogs in a good bowl, then win their bowl game.

I think they will get very high in the rankings despite their pre-season underrating, work their way up to top 7 or so, then suffer two tight losses against UM and OSU which will unjustifiably plummet their ranking to the 20's, while refusal to run up scores against the patsies on their schedule will kill their BCS ranking again.

Underdogs?

Have you been reading the publications? You guys are far from underdogs by any publications.

Michigan will win the Big Ten and lose to USC in the National Championship. USC just has too much talent.

I'm hoping for a bowl game for my illini. It doesn't help that we have what is considered to be the 17th toughest schedule in all of NCAA football...

At least more than two wins would be nice.

Athlon's has you ranked 4th, Lindy's 6th and I think Phil Steele had you in the top 5.

I think you're going a little heavy on the no respect card.

last year I don't think people liked Wisconsin that much on paper. This year, people realize that the badgers are really good. They should be better than OSU and probably the 2nd best team in the conference, and one of the 10 best teams in the nation.

At least John L. is gone.

Aren't they returning virtually all of their starters from last year? I know Thomas and Stocco are gone but are they losing much else?

Since Michigan lost almost there entire defense and I think Michigan/Wisconsin game is in Wiscosin. I think I would take Wisconsin to win the Big Ten. Unless you are taking PSU to win the Big Ten? In which case I still will take Wisconsin.

Yes!!!!!!!!! I think this is why we wont shoot ourselves as much as in the past. I have a feeling we are going to surprise this year actually. We arent completely talentless. Dantonio seems to be a good coach. I would be surprised with anything better than 7-5 though.

I'm excited about the Florida State season. They rid themselves of the dead weight in the coaching staff, and the players are excited about the upcoming season. I've heard reports on the new coaches are nothing but good, and I'm interested to see what the OL can do now with one of the best coaches in the country. And the offense will only be better with Jimbo at the helm.

I don't like the tough schedule, but I'll go out on a limb and say 10-3.

We're already cleaning up in recruiting, and if that happens I see a NC within 3 years. I can't wait - this is one of the most promising seasons I've ever been looking forward to.

No worries about replacing Jimbo Fisher?

I'm with DCNash. ND will go 9-4. I get strong 1993-type vibes from this team.

(In 1993, the Irish entered the season losing a lot of top talent but were carried by a somewhat unheralded group to an 11-1 record and a shoulda-been national championship.)
