This is the perfect spot to get Gallagher's feet wet and Lou's bringing in Wuertz.

I would've used Eyre and have an excuse not to use him tomorrow if it's a close game.

I would have used Eyre as well. Gallagher is not being used because he is the long man, and they want to save him for a situation where he would have to go a few innings-at least that's what I think is why it is.

Only bad thing about the win is that bad Dan Plesac is back.

Great win by our Cubs! I'm starting to get a good feeling about this team. What's lost in the Sori hit parade has been two terrific outings by our young lefties, Hill and Marshall. Add in Marmol and a healthy Guzman, and I'd have to say we have the most impressive group of young pitchers in MLB. And just wait until D-Lee and Ram heat back up! Let's make it 4 in a row tomorrow!

I don't know if this was brought up, but wouldn't tonights game have been the perfect place to get Gallagher's feet wet? Otherwise I can't complain, nice little win.

I thought the exact same thing.

Yeah, Lou pretty much tries to put the wrong relievers in, it's the only logical explanation.

anyone ever see the umpire crew change after the first game of a series before?

definetely not a bad thing seeing Charlie's crew leave town, but I will say despite the beatdown, I thought the Braves got the benefit of the strikezone more often than the Cubs tonight.

I was just going to post something about Gallagher not pitching. He's been up a couple days now, and hasn't pitched in quite some time since his last start. Why not let him get his feet wet in a blowout? Don't understand it at all.

The only thing that makes sense is with Marquis and Lilly going the next 2 days, Lou wanted a long man just in case. Both of them last time out struggled so I think hes just covering his ass.

Marquis didn't.

There's something I dont get about today. Soriano hits 3 home runs... and it says "Soriano: 3 HR Vs. Atlanta" on the bottom left of ESPNEWS Breaking News box.

The thing I dont get about it is, the Cubs dont play in New York, Boston, and Soriano isn't a left fielder in the city of San Francisco.

Has the world gone mad?

Soriano used to be a Yankee.
