WOW anybody heard the details yet? What were Seans numbers like so far this year? Might want to move this to transactions also.

Sean's MiLB.com page won't load. Here are his stats: 7-2, 3.39 ERA, 11 GS, 61 IP, 54 K/24 BB, 54 H, 1.28 WHIP.

Sean's career minor league stats can be found here.

Congratulations are definitely in order; I look forward to watching him pitch as a major leaguer. Any word on whether he'll be a starter or in the bullpen?

at first I thought Iowa Cubs... huh, this is strange. Please don't be a trade, please don't be a trade, please don't be a trade...

are you saying this b/c you don't want the cubs to trade one or more of their players or because you don't want hendry to trade one or more of his players?

I don't want Gallagher to be traded... he seems to be a good kid, and it's nice having inside info on one of the better prospects in the organization.

I can't imagine that this is for bullpen help, because Gallagher has never pitched out of the pen. They'd probably go with Rapada, Cherry, Cotts or Pignatiello before Gallagher, if that was what they were looking for.

I don't think Lilly has any physical problems. The projected starters in Atlanta are Hill, Lilly, Marquis and Marshall. Hill threw well last time out, and I don't think his blister problem has arisen. So I'm going to guess that either Marquis or Marshall will miss their start, and I'll lean toward guessing Marshall since he gets hurt all the time.

Moved the Gallagher thread to Transactions and merged it with the existing thread here.

The poster is Gallagher's father I believe... he's been kind enough to give us plenty of information on Sean and his thoughts after several of his starts. We've also been tipped off to previous promotions before they were official, and they've all come through. So I tend to believe this piece of information, though it is very surprising.

Looking it over, it's likely Miller to 60-day DL.

He's not on the active roster so thats not possible.

Talking about how to get him on the 40 man

When was the last time Sean started?
Four days ago. His next scheduled start for Tennessee would have been tomorrow, which is also Zambrano's next scheduled start for the Cubs. Coincidence or not remains to be seen.

I can't imagine them pulling anybody from the rotation, unless Zambrano has been traded or is injured. I could definitely see them putting him in the bullpen, even if he doesn't have experience there.

That's what I'm talking about.

Not so much worried about who gets bumped down from the 25 man as how we make room for him in the 40 man.

Yeah, but didn't his father said that the family was going to Atlanta for the weekend?

Of course, Sean is meeting with the Cubs in Mil, so anything is possible.

what makes you think it's gallagher that's going to be traded? didn't he say he was joining the cubs? they wouldn't call him up to trade him.

Not trying to be overly skeptical but wouldn't we have heard some buzz about Z getting traded before this?

Maybe they just live closer to Atlanta? His start and Z's start being the same day is awfuly coincidental.

Roster move predictions, those who are savy in the those ways? Without a trade that is?

Miller or Dope off the 60-man.

Z - DL/trade

Eyre - DFA/trade

Marmol/Guzman/Wuertz - sent to AAA (not likely)

some random pitcher to the DL

some out of nowhere trade
