Just heard Lou Post Game on ESPN 1000.

A lot of long pauses...."The team needs to get it done" "I don't know..." He seemed pissed, shocked and speechless..

Welcome to the Cubs Soriano, Lou... Hope you enjoy your visit.

(We are not responsible for any mental deterioration this team might/can/will cause you.)

Not that it would have mattered but given the struggles from the pen I think Lou should have just smacked Gooz on the butt and said go get 'em, tiger following the leg cramp in the 6th.

What do we need with a first baseman who can't hit the ball out of the ballpark?

Gee I don't know, maybe his .390 average, 17 doubles and 1.016 OPS, and his gold glove defense, but that's about it.

I was assuming he was joking. At least I hope he was.

We don't need all these star players. Just trade them all for top prospects. I would rather watch young players grow as a baseball player and lose than watch bunch of loser veterans continue to play for a season that's already over.

It probably wasn't a joke.

Cubs just need to get sold and get the hell out of Chicago. The worst professional sports team ever. They are a disgrace to the city of Chicago.

well i wouldnt go that far as to movin them outta chicago....but after today i most def am close to the edge, so don't push cuz i'm bout to lose my head.

F.U. CUBS

Goddamit, I almost had a murderous rage today. I was throwing stuff against the wall. I almost put my foot through the TV. How can the Cubs lose like that. 5 runs in the 9th? Come the freak on!

I'm depressed. But throwing things, putting your foot through the tv (almost)? Are you serious?

Soriano12 thinks that reaction is a little excessive.

No need to call JeffH a troll...he's posted some insightful and informative stuff over the years...frustration mounts in different ways for different people.

And it's true - Lee hasn't hit the ball out of the park much (though his SLG isn't suffering too much).

Stop watching the Cubs this year, they don't deserve your viewership.

That was disgusting. Instead of salvaging a series split instead of a win they should have gotten, they choked away another 4 run lead.

Pathetic.

Our lack of HR from our overall guys that SHOULD be hitting more, is hurting us. That and the bullpen completely sucking. Those are the 2 biggest things as to why we haven't won 5-6 more games than we have. .

Dempster quote after todays game:

"They have a good team. They do a good job," Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster said of the Mets. "Tip your cap to them. Unfortunately, I didn't do my job today. I didn't do a very good job at all."

Tip your cap? LOL! What a idiot.

I laughed at that line.

"Tip your cap to them" = "losing is acceptable".

That's not true whatsoever. It doesn't apply today, but there are times when you do have to 'tip your cap'. Players make good plays and pitchers have great days...today was not one of those days, we just blew it.

Just got home and saw the boxscore. Brutal loss, has to be the worst of the season.

The mere fact that any remotely solid case to the contrary could be made by anyone says a lot about this team.

Guzman may never get a major league win the way he's being treated by the other 24 guys.

I'm getting the feeling NSBB day will be more a three-hour bitch session than anything.
